The ammonium in the wastewater is harmful to the environment and ecosystem. The methods of all ammonium wastewater treatments were reviewed and the characteristics, theory and all influence factor of the air-blowing stripping and membrane technology are explained in detail. Based on the properties of the ammonium wastewater to be treated, the rotating packed bed of higee are designed, the rotating packed bed shell is 700mm in diameter and 450mm in height. The packing material is made in organic glass of 3mm in thickness. The 70mm high packing is assembled by zigzag of 16 rings of 56mm in height and the gap of the rings is 5mm. This zigzag packing space is 0.69 and its specific area is 1.9×102m-1.These zigzag packing are in the kettle of 400mm in diameter, which is rotated by rotor and 45% surface is spaced. This rotating packed bed was evaluated by blowing the wastewater containing 300mg/L -10000mg/L ammonium. This system has been checked by different gas/liquid ratio, temperature, rotating speed and pH value. The results showed that 80% ammonium in the wastewater could be removed once above 20 ℃ , pH from10.5 to 11,the ratio of gas and liquid from1600 to 2000, and the rotating speed from 800r/min to 1000r/min. And the higher concentration of ammonium, the more ammonium is removed and more than 90% ammonium is blowing-off if the ammonium concentration is about 10000mg/L. The technology has low press drop and no any other pre-treatment This rotating packed bed of higee is proper to the treatment of wastewater containing above 3000mg/L ammonium. The membrane technology was applied and studied to treat the wastewater containing less than 3000mg/L ammonium. The polypropylene hollow fiber membrane is 310μm in inner diameter and 45μm in thickness. The membrane was evaluated in the system and the results show that 90% ammonium in the wastewater could be removed when the pH is more than 11.0, 8 times wastewater flux of sulfuric acid (20%) absorbent, suspend impurity less than 20mg/L and temperature 30 to 45 ℃ .
