N—acyl—ED3A is a new type of surfactant. It have powerful chelating and strong surfactancy , superior mildness, low toxicity, minimal irritancy etc properties. It applies in personal care, household and industry product. It will have very potential applications. The study of the applications on it is one of the active fields. N,N'-ethylenediamine diacetic acid(S-EDDA) was prepared by condensation of ethylenediamine, formaldehyde and potassium cyanide. Then 2-oxo-1-piperazine acetic acid(S-KP) was prepared from N,N'-ethylenediamine diacetic acid(S-EDDA). In addition, 2-oxo-1, 4-piperazine diacetic acid(3-KP) was prepared from 2-oxo-1-piperazine acetic acid(S-KP) with chloroacetic acid. The molecular structures of them were respectively characterized by 1HNMR and 13CNMR. Optimal process conditions for preparing N,N'-ethylenediamine diacetic acid(S-EDDA): Potassium cyanide was combined with formaldehyde and ethylenediamine at a mole ratio of 2.4 to 2.4 to1, at temperature 18℃,and then was hydrolyzed for 8 hours. Optimal process conditions for preparing 2-oxo-1-piperazine acetic acid(S-KP): N,N'-ethylenediamine diacetic acid(S-EDDA) with hydrochloric acid at a mole ratio of 1 to 2.6 ,was cyclized to form 2-oxo-1-piperazine acetic acid(S-KP) by refluxing for 8 hours. Optimal process conditions for preparing 2-oxo-1, 4-piperazine diacetic acid(3-KP): 2-oxo-1-piperazine acetic acid(S-KP) was combined with chloroacetic acid at a mole ratio of 1 to 1.1, at temperature 40℃for 8 hours. Trisodium salt of N,N,N'-ethylenediamine triacetic acid was prepared by hydrolyzing 2-oxo-1, 4-piperazine diacetic acid(3-KP) in the strong base solution. Then it was combined with lauroyl chloride, hexadecanoyl chloride and benzoyl chloride respectively. N-lauroyl-ED3A and N-hexadecanoyl-ED3A were prepared in succsess. The molecular structure of N-lauroyl-ED3A was characterized by 1HNMR and 13CNMR. The molecular structure of N-hexadecanoyl-ED3A was characterized by 1HNMR.
