Dynamic Monitor And Analysis On Urban Sprawling And Environment Change Of Fuzhou City Base On RS & GIS

City is the gathering joint of a certain spirit which is combined with material , energy , information and natural environment together by the mankind, it is a epitome of the human society. The urbanization nearly reflects the development and progress of an area, marking culture and civilization for one era. With the change of the urban system, the urban problem is becoming more complicated and is urgent to be solved. Studying the change of space expanding and ecological environment of the city is an important subject of solving urban problem.Using multi-temporal Landsat TM and SPOT satellite images and supported by GIS, this paper applied dynamic monitoring technique to urban sprawling and environment changing in Fuzhou city. Meanwhile the change analysis was done combining the social and economic data of Fuzhou city.The speed, direction and the driving forces of urban sprawl were analysised in Fuzhou city from 1959, 1988,2000 to 2003. The environment change in Fuzhou was studied by analysizing the change of urban heat island, vegetaion cover etc.
