The per capita water amount in our country only is 25% of average level in the world. And in the network region, where the development of social, economy and civilization is fast, pollution-induced water shortage is one of main barriers of economy sustainable development. So the study of protection of water resources is more and more attached importance to, and the numerical simulation of water quantity and water quality is applied to the environment planning and management in the region.Depending on the present status and developing trace of the numerical simulation of water quantity and water quality for river network and the management of network cross, 2-D depth-averaged flows and pollution models using the finite volume method(FVM) with approximate Riemann solvers are applied to the simulations of hydrodynamics character and diffusive substances transport features in this article. In the mathematical model the uniformly mixed assumption is abandoned, and based on the diffusive substances transport principle, the rule of diffusive substances transport is studied on different conditions of water quantity at the cross. At the same time, the physical model is applied to simulate flow and diffusive substances and is used to the calibration of various parameter and the verification of the mathematical model. The response relation of average mass density between effluent and entering is established by analysing forecast result of diffusive substances on different conditions of water quantity. The response relation is applied to deal with river network cross and more reasonable means to deal with the cross in allusion to effluent and entering flows more than one is put forward. And a referenced way is offered to conquer the limitation of theory and improve the simulation precision of the numerical simulation of water quality for river network. ,...
