The alkylation of benzene with propylene producing cumene over modified zeolite under liquid-phase reaction condition is mainly process in petrochemical industries. Beta zeolites as solid acid have been widely used in the alkylation because of erosion and pollution of SPA and A1C13 as catalysts. The use of the solid acid catalysts is an important target in modern chemical industry. This paper studied the influence of reaction condition on the activity, deactivation and stability of the catalyst, including the mole ratio of benzene to propylene, space velocity and reaction temperature. The results show coke property, coke quantity, coke spots, coke shape, deactivation time and deactivation mechanism in the catalyst have a close relation with reaction temperature by characterizing the deactivated -catalysts.The regeneration of the deactivated-catalysts were carried out with DG-DTA apparatus. The kinetic parameters, including activation energy, order of reaction and preexponential factor, were calculated by Ozawa means and Kissinger means. The kinetic results show that the airoxygenation regeneration mechanism of the deactivated-catalysts follows both 3-D mass transfer and sphericity symmetry mechanism, which is Ginstiling-Brounshtein equation.
