Many organic pigments'range and effect of use are greatly limited because of their low light and thermal stability. We base on Layered Double Hydroxides (LDHs) can been intercalated and LDHs layers can steady species of interlayer, organic pigments have been successfully intercalated into LDHs precursors. Complex inorganic-organic structure pigments have been prepared. We also study the properties of pillared pigments in complex materials.First, LDHs precursors have been prepared. Mg-Al-CO3 LDHs and Mg-Al-NO3 LDHs were prepared by a new method involving separate nucleation and aging steps. Zn-Al-NO3 LDHs was prepared by co-precipitation. All kinds of synthesizing conditions influenceing the structure of LDHs have also been investigated.Secend, permanent red F5R and methyl orange (MO) have been intercalated into LDHs precursors via ion exchange. The influence of aging time, aging temperature, pH value and substance ratio on intercalation have been investigated. The sample thereby obtained was characterized by XRD, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, and TG-DTA. The results show that the original interlayer anions of the hydrotalcite precursor can be completely replaced by permanent red F5R anions and MO anions. It was found that the interaction of the host layers and the guests is through electrostatic attraction, hydrogen bonding and other weak chemical bonding interactions, confirming that the intercalated LDHs have a supramolecular structure. The light and thermal stability of MO anion-pillared LDHs have been enhanced by a considerable extent.Last, the using properties of pillared pigments in complex materials have been investigated. After pillared pigments being used in dope, PE and PP, light stability and thermal stability mainly have been studied. The results show that pillared pigments can be equably dispersed in dope, PE and PP, what is more, pillared pigments have ascendant light stability and thermal stability. If pigments were pillared into different LDHs precursors, the pillared products'light stability and thermal stability are not same.
