The main problem during the development of sandstone bottom water reservoir blocks 1&2 in Tahe oilfield is how to control the coning of bottom water so as to get the stable oil production. Putting the reservoir into adjustment through our further tracking study is this article's emphasis.By studing the reservoir's geological characterization and reserves state, especially studying the injection-withdrawal curve and phase permeability curve which have main influence on the development, theoretical comparison basis of reservoir's development effect is established. That are the increased rate of water cut of middle group of Triassic system in block 2 raises slowerly than that of down group of Triassic system in block 1 in the period of low-water-cut production and after that time the sequence above is on the contrary.Based on the analyses of performance characterizations and pool engineering, development effect comparison between horizontal wells and vertical wells and analysis of reservoir's development effect were made. Thus the conclusions the development effect of a horizontal well is equal to that of two-to-three vertical wells in block 1 and in block 2 the development effect of a horizontal well is less than that of two vertical wells can be drawn. So the reservoir of block 1 fits drilling horizontal wells. The main reasons that made the difference of development effect are the controlling bottom water measures and effects of block 1 are more than that of block 2, additionally the reservoir geological factor in block 1 which means there are bands around oil-brine interface is better than that of block 2.The minor adjustment suggestion that patterm modification in block 1 and pattern modification added by maturing wells' measures modification in block 2 were posed to two reservoirs' main work for the next year, based on the geological model of reservoirs founded on the static characterizations and performance characterizations and studied by reservoir numerical simulation.
