From the long time, the harmful bacteria bring enormous damage to people; therefore, many countries around the world pay more attention to the research of the antibacterial materials. Two kinds of them are widely studied at present. One is the substance whose surface has micro-pore structure or crystal structure with excellent exchanging prosperity, such as silver-zeolite; the other one generally select the glass with certainly chemical stability and soluble property, which are added a few Ag+, Zn2+, Cu2+ ion. This study adopted the ion compound antibacterial to produce the materials of antibacterial glass.Two kinds of different carriers are used in this experiment, phosphate and borate system. The antibacterial glass material, which is added Ag+, Zn2+ through some carriers, has excellent antibacterial property against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aurous.Two kinds of antibacterial glass material system are studied with XPS, SEM, Spectrophotometer and Atom Absorb photometer, antibacterial property test and toxicity to investigate the influential factors to the antibacterial glass material and their relations.The results show that the problem of Ag+ being deoxidized could be solved through adopting some measures such as the preparation of high temperature resistant silver compound; using the raw materials, which have crystal water; and adding some auxiliary. For example, we can supply Ag2O through Ag3PO4 instead of AgNO3; Na2O are supplied partly by NaNO3, B203 are supplied totally by borax, P2O5 are supplied by Ca(H2PO4)2, and append a few CeO2 etc, which successfully solved the problem of Ag+ being deoxidized.The results of antibacterial glass materials showed: two kinds of glass carriers can all turn out the antibacterial glass which has excellent antibacterial property, When the raw material is mixed with 2% silver antibacterial agent or 2% Ag-Zn compound antibacterial agent, we can produce ideal antibacterialglass with high chemical stability and soluble properties, whoseantibacterial-ring grow to more than 4mm, MIC value around 200 g/ml andMBC value around 4000 g/ml.Moreover, the antibacterial glass has some infrared health care property.
