The environmental degradation is a crucial problem universally faced by all countries which severely constraints the sustainable development of human and the ecological restoration and construction becomes the concerning focus of all countries and ecology research. Our country is one of the countries having the most ecological restoration types and the severest mountain degradation problem. Since 1950s' , our country have carried lots of ecological restoration study gradually in many areas, and lots of feasible restoration technologies and models are put forward. Presently the research of southwest area ecological restoration are lacking of profoundly probing. Especially in the economical strategy situation of carrying the west exploitation, ecological restoration research will provide great guidance and coordination for realizing the economical sustainable development.Vegetation recovery is the first step of any species group reconstruction in that which multi-lays and multi-species can not only keep canopy deterring the rainfall, but also make residue change the ground so as to relieve raindrops' splashing function and reducing the runoff. Besides the net structure of vegetation root make it possible that it can provide environment for life recovery as well as fix soil and water to conserve the soil and water. Consequently, vegetation recovery research is of great importance in ecological restoration. Since the generally existing environmental problem in Southwest area is loss of water and soil, this article discloses the different characteristics of vegetation groups' in different recovery measures and stages based on appreciation of bio-diversity from the aspect of combination of ecological restoration and water and soil conservation. Furthermore, this article also studies the dynamic monitoring and early-warning techniques on ecological restoration progress by exerting CIS(Geological Information System) techniques and so on to provide practical experience for furthering research. The research results were as follows:(1) The investigation on five representative districts in ecological restoration project area shows that Chinese pine and Chinese fir are the early tree species in natural evolution which will be gradually substituted by hardwood forest or develop into needle-hardwood forest.(2) The carrying period of ecological restoration project will have much greater influence on the biocoenotic distribution, which means that the longer the period, there will have much more tree species in the natural biocoenotic and higher species richness index.(3) The population pressure also have great influence on the biocoenotic distribution. That is to say, the research districts that are influenced by more population pressure will have more artificial forests, while the areas that are influenced by less population pressure contain mainly natural evolutionary biocoenotic and are influenced mostly by nature recovery function and have much higher plant species richness index.(4) The plant species richness index is not positive relevant to species evenness index for which represents the evenness extent of species distribution instead of the quantity of species.(5) By comparing the two different soil erosion intensity distribution map of in 1994 and in 2003, it shows that the soil erosion is declining in whole research area. The extreme intensity erosion and middle intensity erosion are respectively reduced 2.12 percent and 14.28 percent, while intensity erosion and violent intensity erosion are increasing by 7.96 percent and 0. 58 percent, which means the water and soil conservation task is still in great need.(6) The land use patterns directly influence the amount of soil loss. The sediment production of sloping land occupying the 21. 34% of the whole watershed area have the 81.98% of the whole watershed sediment production, while the rest area have the 18. 02%. Therefore the sloping land are the mainsource of the whole watershed sediment production and also the emphasis of soil and water...
