This paper studied sulfate lignin of sulfonation modifying with sodium sulfite. The modified lignousulfonate may be used for coal water mixture (CWM) additive. It studied that the viscosity reduce degree of Lao YingShan GuiZhou province raw coal CWM with sulfonation temperature, pH value, reaction time etc factors, and found the best reaction condition .The results show that the disperse action is good with pH =12, temperature 50 ~ 60 ?,reaction time 3h. To LaoYingShan GuiZhou province raw coal CWM, the effect of viscosity reduce degree is better than market lignousulfonate. We got the best project by regression orthogonal design experiments. The characteristic of CWM is concentration 69%, viscosity less than 1200 mPa.s , no water separate out after 10 days and the bottom have a little soft deposition after hermetic save two months, but it can regeneration by mix round.The results obtained from spectrum of FT-IR, the experiment ofadsorption mensuration and Zeta-potential show that the polarity group quantity of sulfate lignin increase and distributing change by sulfonation modify. So the modified lignousulfonate has better effect of disperse and viscosity reduce than market lignosulfonate because of the adsorption quantity more and the minus charge increase at the coal surface.The result of determine the size distribution of CWM that the size less than 74 ?m by hydrometer method compare with laser method.Thus, the modified lignosulfonate is cheap and beneficial to environment protecting, which will be popularized in the CWM field. On the other side, GuiZhou coal is fit for making high concentration CWM, it should have a good exploiture future.
