In this paper, borrowing ideas from the research method of the spontaneous combustion mathematical model of goaf, applying to the hydrodynamic theory of porous medium, the spontaneous combustion mathematical model of coal gangue dump is set up. From the mathematics, the dynamic evolvement process is described for the spontaneous combustion of coal gangue dump. And the theoretical ground is offered for the prophylactico-therapeutic measures of coal gangue dump which can spontaneously combust.The spontaneous combustion of coal gangue dump and goaf are similar, but they have apparent distinctness. The power to supply 02 is result from the convection of cold and heat air for spontaneous combustion of coal gangue dump, but the other from the ventilation power of main fan. The boundary condition of coal gangue dump is entirely naked space, but the other is limited space.According to the spontaneous combustion mathematical model of coal gangue dump, the scientific and reasonable project is brought forward for the spontaneous combustion prevention of new gangue dump in Hongyang Mine Three. And the practicing effectiveness is very well in the working field.
