In this paper, we studied the reaction mechanism ofpolyvinyl alcohol acetalizing conjugated olefine aldehyde and thepreparation of granule state of polyvinyl alcohol acetalizingconjugated olefine aldehyde in low temperature. then we studiedthe reaction of starch and conjugated olefine aldehyde, and theproperty of the mixture of starch and polyvinyl alcohol.First,we suggested that the reaction between polyvinylalcohol and conjugated olefine aldehyde includes two kinds ofmechanism which are 1,2-and 1,4-addition reaction, because theconcentration of carbonyl group decreased faster than that ofcarbon-carbon double bonds in the reaction. And we alsoconfirmed the mechanism by IR and ~1H-NMR.Second,we discussed the preparation of granule state ofpolyvinyl alcohol acetalizing acrolein and polyvinyl alcoholacetalizing crotonaldehyde in aqueous solution and lowtemperature;on the other hand,we analyzed the effect ofconcentration of reactant, catalyst, temperature and reaction timeon the degree of acetalation.we also concluded the effect on PHon percentage of 1,2- and 1,4-addition in theory.Third,we discussed the acetalation reaction of starch withconjugated olefine aldebyde and tke effect factors. 1n tbe sametime, we aualyzed tke 6lend intermiscibility of starck witkpo1yviuyl alcokol by e1ploiting tke 8imilarity of tbeir structure8,tbeu we analyzed tke effect of tke mixture acetalizingconjugated olefine aldehyde on vi8cosity.
