Polyamides have many excellent physical and chemical properties, and the copolymerization of multicomponents is one of effective methods to decrease the melting temperatures of polyamides. This can broaden the applications of polyamides, such as being the additive component of the hot melt adhesive. In this paper, nylon 6/1010 copolyamides (containing nylon1010 5wt% and 10wt%, respectively) were synthesized using caprolactam and nylon 1010 salts by melting polymerization, and the pure nylon 6 was prepared for comparison. And the related thermodynamic properties and structure of the samples were analyzed by fourier transform spectroscopy (FT-IR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The isothermal and nonisothermal crystallization of the samples was monitored by DSC. The Avrami equation was used to describe the behaviors of the isothermal crystallization, and related equation parameters were obtained by regressing, such as crystallization rate constant K and Avrami exponent n. On the basis of the theory of phase transition kinetics with growth site impingement, a modified kinetic model for the polymer nonisothermal crystallization was proposed, assuming that diffusion controlling in the nucleation process is the same to that in the crystal growing process, and the radial growth rate has the form of Lauritzen-Hoffmann equation. This modified kinetic model was used to describe the nonisothermal crystallization behaviors of the samples, and the average absolute relative derivation (AARD%) between calculated values and experimental values was less than 10%.
