Photo electricity imaging systems are applied to many fields, such as industry, agriculture, medicine, military affairs and laboratory research etc. In a photo electricity imaging system, precisely focusing is a primary problem to be solved. For these conditions, providing an auto-focus means based on digital image processing technology and developing the auto-focus systems with excellent performance will have important significance.The preprocess technology of digital image is a basis and prerequisite of the auto-focus method based on image treatment. The auto-focus based on image technology analyses the imaging state from the current image quality, and then builds a image definition evaluation function, gets a characteristic curve of focus, completes focus operation based on the characteristic curve. Depending on the above research of the auto-focus technology, the paper presents the realization scheme of an auto-focus system based on FPGA. Respectively from the image collection module, the image processing module, the control module and the driving circuit module of the system schematic and PCB design. Finally, the paper analyzes the real-time capability of the system.By the design and the debugging, the system has achieved auto-focus real-time processed based on image treatment and displays the result of focus in real-time, get a good result.
