Net primary productivity (NPP) is one of the important indicators to evaluate the condition of surface vegetation, and has great influence on analyzing and evaluating the global or regional ecological environment changes and carbon circle. Based on the Light Utility Efficiency and Monteith model, with the support of the GIS technology ,we estimated the terrestrial net primary production (NPP) of Heilongjiang Province in 2003,which the NOAA/AVHRR data were used as main remote sensing data input in it. And the spatial change of NPP was analyzed. The main content include that as following.1)Based on the Light Utility Efficiency and Monteith model, This research completed the NPP estimation of Heilongjiang Province. Using relevant ground weather data and the eradiate data. NPP average numerical value is 329.2gC / (m~2·a) of Heilongjiang Province in 2003.2)The geographic spatial pattern of NPP were analyzedThere is a consistent trend between the spatial distribution of NPP and annual average temperature and rainfall. The NPP values of southeastern and central area of Heilongjiang Province are higher than that of western drought area and Daxinganling mountains because of their better humidity and heats.3) We completed the vegetation classification of Heilongjiang ProvinceThe distribution of the different types of vegetation of Heilongjiang Province is as follows:it varies greatly with the different types of wegetation,is decreases in the sequence of forest,shrub,cropland and grassland.4) NPP has significantly positive correlation with annual average temperature and rainfall and NDVI .Educed linearity regresssinon model.The analysis indicate that the rainfall is most maininfluencing factor of NPP.5) The estimation result was compared with many scholar result. The compare indicates that our NPP estimation is worthiness.
