Through the research into the campus electronic map system of several famous colleges and universities inside and outside, it's not difficult to find that its lack of vitality duing to the out-of-date of its data, little user participation, and without variety and difficuties in business function extension had made it replaced gradually by the special map-service platform provided by the map channel of Google, Baidu, Yahoo and so on. Therefore, it badly needs a kind of campus electronic map system that can not only provide the traditional region map service, but also be endowed with the ability that can present specified campus related business function according to users' requirements. In this paper, we proposed and realized a campus electronic map platform architecture based on Web2.0 which radically improves and upgrades the interaction process with users. There are five layers, which are expression layer, application and tool layer, core service layer, access layer and resource layer, according to the architecture to realize the design. Thereinto, expression layer is a portal, which allows users to experience powerful interoperability with electronic map. Application and tool layer deploys all kinds of application models and web services provided by platform. Core service layer extracts various datas and services being independent of mixed applications from function models. Meanwhile, access layer is a middle one which responses to the other above layers. As the base of whole platform, resource layer provides needed resource to the above layers. Five layers make up of an integration indiscerptibly.Secondly, we set up a model of platform data as well as a mechanism for updating data. As the important standards and criteria, the data model bases on an analysis of users, requirements, the type of datas and mutual relations. With collecting, editing and updating the data, and improving functions according to the requirements and business-process supported by the platform, we own the abilities and rules to update datas and functions.Beside, an application of Tianjin University electronic map system was set up based on the prototype of the architecture proposed above.
