Fractal idea has infiltrated many fields step by step, and abundant research productions had been obtained along with the development of fractal theory, moreover, the application of fractal theory in geography provided new ideas and powerful tools especially for many natural forms which were not easy to expressed by traditional geometric forms.Landscape patterns develop from the graphic description to the mathematical description. At present, DEM data was Commonly used takeoff terrain factor, such as the relative height difference, mean elevation, Gully density, mean slope, and cutting depth valley. The landscape classification and quantitative description was used one or more of the indicators of landscape. Or indicator of description of the topography and geomorphology composite applies for a wide range of the field. But it was characterized Valley landscape characteristics of a particular aspect of its complex and comprehensive nature of the integrity of the expression not perfect enough. With the development of fractal dimension, fractal dimension of the s Landscape can be used as a description of the quantitative indicators.This paper taken the seven districts of the Loess Plateau of North Shaanxi Province of 1:10000 and 1:50000 DEM data as the research area .Through the various Hausdorff Dimension and Information Dimension, Information Dimension is the more reliable method of DEM fractal dimension. Through the comparison of Information Dimension with other method of fractal dimension, Information Dimension is a more sensitive than other methods. In the different landscape, on the basis of comparative analysis Information Dimension, the spatial distribution law in the Loess Plateau of North Shaanxi Province was expatiated. Through the same region of 1:10000 and 1:50000 DEM fractal dimension of comparison, it reveals that the more complex topography, the lower Resolution attenuation DEM fractal dimension, that is more sensitive to the scale.
