For discussing the relationship between Sabaigrass and water ecological facters, the influence of water ecological factors on Sabaigrass growth and output and thefunctions of Sabaigrass growth to soil water conservation and mechanism werestudied in this paper. And the mainly results are as followed:1 Water is required, but waterlogging needs to be resisted in growth ofSabaigrass. The study results indicated: The growth and output of the Sabaigrass was in orderon condition that soil holding water ratio was between 70% and 80%. The segregatingbranch of Sabaigrass have not grow rapidly in the procreative period when the soilheld higher(90~100%) or lower water (40~50%), and in August the death ofsegregating branch appeared. The growth of laminae was also impacted, the quantityor length of laminae, even shorter than 80cm. Finally with the result that the outputdecreased evidently. In June, the nutrition blooms in this time, the growth ofsegregating branch of Sabaigrass was affected by the field waterlogging, the caudexand segregating branch were half less than in the normal condition. Therefore it issignificant to prevent field from waterlogging while ensuring the soil contain enoughwater.According to the characteristics of Sabaigrass that it needs water but can notendure waterlogging, it is concluded that sloping field getting much water is feasibleto plant Sabaigrass.; Planting in the ridge of a field is a good method to resist seeper ifthe flat field with a lot of rain is the must.2 Sabaigrass planting improves the soil water conservation functions. The study results indicated: vegetation influenced the soil water conservationfunctions of the purple sloping fields greatly. Pure and mixed stands of Sabaigrassvegetation not only improved the soil water conservation functions in purple soilsloping fields, but also has the better effect than wild vegetation. It is pointed out bythe monthly dynamic analysis and yearly comparative analysis that the improvementof soil water conservation functions in purple soil sloping fields by planting Pure and mixed stands of Sabaigrass vegetation is synchronous with the local raining rhythmand the longer planted the better the effect. The study proved that such Km2d ofvegetation reduces the content and weight of soil, increases the soil holes and the soilspeed of filter to improve the soil water conservation functions in pulple soil slopingfields.3 Sabaigrass planting prevent and cure water and soil lossThe study results indicated: Sabaigrass lowered the water and soil loss of purplesoil distinctly. The annual runoff of purple sloping fields with pure stands ofSabaigrass was only 18558.64 (t/Km~2),annual erosion data was 84.22 (t/Km~2),protection efficiency was 72.57% and 95.86% respectively. Protection and cureproportion of mixed stamds of Sabaigrass was even 80.25% and 97.89%,nearly nowater and soil loss. Besides, from the water and soil loss monthly dynamic data, wecan see the Sabaigrass had the hearty growth before the rainy season to protect thewater and soil and raise the ability of fighting a drought. At the same time, Sabaigrasscan reduce the nutrition loss of the soil. For example, to avoid soil water and soilloss, increase the soil nutrition, mixed stands of Sabaigrass took effect.
