Corrosion is an important destruction factor of modern industry and life. Our country's corrosion losses accounts for 6 % of gross national product every year. At present the methods preventing from corrosion are surface painting, surface treatments, electric chemical protection, etc. many kinds, however adding corrosion inhibitor is a convenient cheap applicable method, and capabilities in protecting resources and reducing material losses are used in many kinds of fields extensively. With the arrival of marine century, the development and utilization of sea water resources are being paid attention increasingly, but the sea water will cause the enormous economic losses because of its strong causticity. The sea water corrosion inhibitor plays an increasingly important role in the course of developing and utilizing sea water with its unique superiority, but with of the enhancement environmental protection and security consciousness, some poisonous harmful corrosion inhibitors will be limited or forbidden using. Therefore,developing low-toxicity environmental friendly corrosion inhibitors will be urgent extremely.According to low-toxicity , environmental friendly, low-priced thinking , chitin as the plentiful natural organic compound containing nitrogen and the second largest organic natural resources in the nature, because contains lone pair electronic elements (such as O , N , S ) such as -NH2, -OH, etc. , these elements or base group containing lone pair electrons can form the coordination key with empty track of metallic element directly, such as empty d track of Fe atom , and make the organic molecule absorb firmly on the metal surface, forming an protective film from corroding. So, careful studying of chitosan's inhibitory capability will be of a very important meaning. we select two kinds of raw materials that are suitable for studying inhibitory capability in this article: Water soluble chitosan and carboxymethychitosan, to appraise their inhibitory capability, to study their inhibitory mechanism, and further investigate how the factors of density , molecular weight and compounding with other inhibitor...
