The Pamirs of China locate the southwest of Xinjiang which is a great mountain joint formed by Tianshan Mountain,Kunlun Mountain,Kelakunlun Mountain, and XingDuKu Mountain. It's position is remote and natural environment is very bad. Compositae is the biggest family in the area, in the paper, we systematically studied taxonomy of Compositae plants, on its basis species diversity was analysed which including the trait of genera and species, life form and flora constitution character and so on. At the end the resource was apprasied and classfied. The research indicated that:There were 36G,139Sp and 1Ssp,5var, including 3 new record genera (Bidens,Sonchus,Hieracium)and 31 new record species and 1 var(Erigeron allochrous Botsch.,L. macrophylla (Ledeb.) DC.,Tragopogon pratensis L. etc)of Chinese Pamirs.According to analysis of species diversity we found autogenus and oligotypic genus wre more , accounted for 83.3% of total genera , multiplicate genus were less but including more species, accounted for 16.7% of total genera and 51.1% of species; In plant life-form, hemicryptoyte plant was main as high as 85.6%. Special ingredient's proportion was not high, but Chinese Xinjiang unique distribution plant were abundant. The composition of flora of Compositae was very complex in Pamirs of China and the temperate quality was obvious, the north-temperate area was dominating, without tropic distribution and the Chinese unique distribution.Compositae plant resources were rich in the area, many species had important value in medicine, viewing and admiring feeding. Our article provided basic science information for lucubrating how to protect biology diversity and utilize plant resource in Pamirs of China.
