The aquatic vegetation community of Lake Caohai in Guizhou was regarded as the main investigating target. The plant community structure of the wetland and the correlation between the plant community structure and environmental factors were analyzed systematically and the main results were as follows:The ecological relationship between aquatic vegetation and environment was analyzed by TWINSPAN and DCA. 17 associations were produced by TWINSPAN and the water gradient revealed clearly. The first axis of DCA of quadrants also indicated the water gradient which ascended from left to right. The DCA pattern of dominant species was very similar with that of quadrants, which meant that the distribution of dominant species determined that of the associations.The community structure of CC (conserved community) and DC (degraded community) of waterfowl roosting sites at Lake Caohai was analyzed and the results showed that the species richness index, Entropy index, Margalef index of DC were all higher than that of CC.
