This paper mainly researches the meanings, contents, methods and evaluations of data quality control. Now, some GIS softwares are provided for the functions of data check, automatic or semiautomatic connecting edges processing, auto-processing annotation information ,and auto-evaluating of attitude lines on 3D data, attribute data, spatial topology relationship, and so on, which greatly decrease the problems of data quality from human-machine interactive infervening and the quality problems from the factitious errors, and improve the efficiencies. As for data quality control, these methods are not enough. Thus, it is important to make data quality control.Data quality consists of eight feathers as follows: accuracy, precision, uncertainty, compatibility, consistency, integrity, availability, reality. Data quality is connected with feathers metioned-above, which stand for the different aspects of data. There are many connections among them, for example, the poor reality may make the actual phenomenon wrong, the poor availability may influence the integrities of data, and the poor precision may lead to the poor uncertainty.According to the practice in my work, this paper does some research on the methods of data actuality analysis and data quality control in Dongwan City, the choice of the system platform, and evaluation of data quality, which ensure the consistency and integrity of data quality and data.
