The exploration and development of marine resources have important meaning to our country whose resources are relatively deficient. In order to explore the oceans more deeply,people have developed a variety of sampling equipments to collect seafloor sediment ,and obtained useful information by taking research on the sediments, to achieve the purpose of understanding the ocean.Particularly in the marine geological survey, resource exploration and mineral resource assessment, the seabed sampling techniques and its equipment occupies a pivotal position. With the progress of science and the increase of the sediment samples requirements,to develop sampling equipment with better overall performance becoming more and more important.This article carried on the study about a hydrostatic seafloor sediment sampler which has no external energy, the difference between the ambient water pressure and low pressure air in the tank which carried by the device itself provides the energy,and collect the seafloor sediment in a percussion way.In this article, through the study of the working mechanism and the way to improve the efficiency of hydrostatic sampler,a design guide rules for hydrostatic sampler is achieved to afford the academic basement for similar equipment development.The thesis is divided into 6 chapters. The research content in each chapter is as follows:Chapter 1 describes the background and significance of the research, and introduces the development of sampling equipment and its characteristics in current, and focuses on hydrostatic sampler present study. Then, the trend of seafloor sediment sampler is analyzed. In this chapter,the main research content of this thesis is also put forwad.In chapter 2, the mechanical structure of hydrostatic sampler is designed.Through the analysis and calculation of the key parts,the design theory of hydrostatic sampler is obtained. In this chapter,the trigger mechanism, working principle and working process about hydrostatic sampler are also introduced.Chapter 3 is experimental verification. In this chapter, the manufacture of the prototype sampler is completed, and then taking the test means to verify the sampler's work mechanism and work mode.In chapter 4, The sampling efficiency is researched. By analysising the sampler's working mechanism, a conclusion is obtained that the key factor affecting sampling efficiency is the drainage flow of driving unit, and a complete efficiency improvement guide rules is achieved by using optimization design and simulation. In chapter 5, through the experimental studies,the simulation model about sampling efficiency completed in Chapter 4 is verified.Based on the sampler efficiency improvement theory ,the sampler structure is changed, and improve the sampler energy conversion efficiency significantly.In chapter 6, there is a summary on the research of this paper, and proposed certain directions for further study combining with the present study on the hydrostatic seafloor sediment sampler, hoping to make some contribution to the development of hydrostatic seafloor sediment sampler.
