During August 2007 to April 2010, a systematic survey on birds appearing in airfield during the day was carried out in Erlianhot, Wuhai, Xilinhot, Erdos airport in Inner-Mongolia. With a preliminary analysis of the rhythm performing on the daily and seasonal level, scientific evidence was provided for preventing birds and keeping operation safe in airports. At the same time, habitat transformation measures aiming at each airport were proposed. The major result showes that:(1) A total of 47 species which belong to 9 orders,21 families are recorded in Erlianhot Airport. Among them,17 species are residents,27 species are summer visitors and 3 species are winter visitors.26 species which belong to 8 orders,15 families are recorded in Wuhai Airport. The species number of residents, summer visitors, winter visitors account for 10,14 and 2 respectively. In Xilinhot airport, a total of 21 species which belong to 7 orders,14 families are recorded. Among them,9 species are residents,11 species are summer visitors and there are no winter species but 1 travelling species.29 species which belong to 6 orders,13 families are recorded in Erdos airport, the species number of residents and summer migrants are all 14 and there are no winter migrants but 1 travelling species. The result indicates that there are differences on avifauna between each of 2 airports. Variation between Erlianhot airport and other airports is great and the avifauna in Wuhai airport is more similar to any other airports.(2) Curves of avian number appearing in daytime have two typical patterns-unimodal distribution and bimodal distribution commonly. In the months with daily temperature high, the number peaks are dispersive and the peaks often distribute in twilight. On the contrary, if the daily temperature is low, the number peaks concentrate and time intervals between two peaks are often short. In the day, the number change of birds is greater than the species. (3) Changes of avian community give expression to the features of seasona activities in civil airports. By comparison, a result is obtained that the diversity index in Erlianhot Airport is highest in spring and summer but lowest in autumn and winter the index in Wuhai Airport is lowest in summer and spring in Xilinhot, autumn ir Erdos are much higher than any other airports.(4) In order to avoiding time intervals of avain activities, it is essencial for the airports to adjust their scheduled flights and disperse birds actively in rush hour.
