Tectonic Geomorphological Characteristics And Evolution Of The Daba Mountains

Tectonic geomorphology is an interdisciplinary subject of geology, geomorphology, and geodynamics, being hotly researched. As rapid development of DEM application and development platform of computer, extracting of regional feature information is widely applied to the quantitative study of geology to reveal the deep relationship between the tectonic movement, surface topography and tectonic activity around the response to such constraints. Daba Mountain is the transition zone of Qinling and Sichuan Basin, the uplift and geomorphic features are relatively short of studied. In this paper, geographic information system (GIS) as a platform, through the digital elevation model (DEM) of the processing and analysis, combined with geological maps, structural water system maps, remote sensing maps, records of field investigation data, we synthetically analyzed the geomorphic features of the structure of Daba, specific findings are as follows:(1) On elevation, surface slope and aspect, factors such as mountain shadow map classification and statistics, analysis of Daba Mountain area distribution of topography. The analysis shows that the Indo-Daba-Yanshanian thrust, the formation of large-scale thrust belt, fault growth, strong orogeny, while the slope change strong shadow areas and mountain fold is often active faults or regional development. It can be seen from the surface topographic features, Daba role thrust areas show the characteristics of weak North strong south.(2) By contour lines, rivers and other linear longitudinal profile line analysis of the landscape and found in the study area southwest of the mountain slope, and the Daba Mountains thrust from the beginning has been to uplift the current experienced at least three stages, until the thrust thrust end of the exercise, Daba is still in uplifting the state, Floodplain development phase, according to the situation we can see Daba Mountains region is currently in a stable phase.(3) Able to extract the water system maps, three-dimensional map, mountain shadow map directly reflect the characteristics of the study area's topography and downs, and through the amplification, exaggerated to reflect the detail of the landscape features.
