Purpose and significance:Diagnosis of the luo-vessel is an important part of TCM diagnostics and the basis of clinical treatment.The wealth of records of the luo-vessels in the Nei Jing provides the basis for the exploration and systematic study of the content of the luo-vessel diagnostic method.The main objectives of this study are as follows:Firstly,it places the luo-vessels diagnosis in the context of the entire study of luo-vessels and redefines the definition of luo-vessels and the scope of luo-vessels diagnosis according to the Nei Jing,so that luo-vessels diagnosis can truly become a bridge between the basic theory of luo-vessels and clinical treatment.Secondly,from the perspective of the diagnostic methods,the foundations of the diagnostic methods,the content and main points of the diagnostic examination,and the application of the diagnostic methods of the luo-vessels in the Nei Jing are explored in turn,so that the contents of the luo-vessels diagnostic methods,which are scattered in the Nei Jing,can be presented in a systematic manner.Thirdly,through the study of the application of the luo-vessels diagnostic method,the simple luo-vessels treatment model of the Nei Jing period is restored.Fourthly,By exploring the questionable aspects of the method of pulse diagnosis,the understanding of the meaning of the method will be deepened and the practicability of the method will be enhanced..The significance of this study is that by fully exploring the contents of the Diagnostic Method of the luo-vessels of the Nei Jing and presenting it in a systematic manner,it can facilitate the clinical practice of Chinese medicine,especially acupuncture;by restoring the simple Diagnostic Method of the luo-vessels of the Nei Jing period,it can facilitate the thinking and exploration of the discipline of acupuncture and moxibustion in accordance with its own rules.In addition,this study is an important supplement to the diagnostic science of Chinese medicine,to a certain extent,inspire contemporary research on the western and Chinese use of diagnostic techniques.Research methods:(1)Visual analysis of the literatureCitespace literature visualization and analysis software is used to objectively and directly reveal the current status of the luo-vessels diagnosis method in the field of research on the luo-vessels of the Nei Jing,as well as the basic situation of the current research on the luo-vessels diagnosis method,providing a background basis and research direction for the subsequent systematic research on the luo-vessels diagnosis method of the Nei Jing.(2)HermeneuticsHermeneutics,also known as interpretation and hermeneutics,is the study of how to properly understand the content of a text.This paper takes the content of the luo-vessels as contained in the Nei Jing as the main object of study,referring to the interpretations of the text by commentators such as Yang Shangshan,Wang Bing,Zhang Jinyue,Zhang Zhicong and Ma Shi,and drawing on some of the views on the study of the literature by modern literature writers such as Huang Longxiang and Zhao Jingsheng,and synthesising the above to give its own understanding of the content of the luo-vessels diagnosis under the perspective determined by the purpose of the study.(3)Logical analysisFrom the perspective of diagnostics,this study also uses logical analysis method when mining diagnostic content in the literature of luo-vessels.Most of the documentary records are different from the actual clinical diagnosis and treatment.Sometimes the documentary records will treat the actual clinical treatment in a fragmented or summarized way.For example,the original complete diagnosis and treatment process may be divided into different parts in the literature,such as symptoms,treatment plans or diagnosis rules and other content forms,which will be presented in the literature.Therefore,logical analysis should be used when analyzing and mining the diagnostic content in the complex literature of Neijing.For example,the diagnostic information hidden in the contents of complex disease or puncture and collature treatment should be mined and transformed.This is also the difficulty and key part of this study.Research contents:(1)Definition of key conceptsBased on the results of the previous study,it is suggested that one of the main problems affecting the study of the Luo-vessel Diagnostic Method of the Nei Jing is the ambiguity of the concept of the luo-vessel in the Diagnostic Method of the luo-vessel.Therefore,this paper first defines the concept of the luo-vessel in the diagnosis of the luo-vessel and the content of the diagnosis of the luo-vessel.In addition,several other important related concepts that emerged from the study,such as pathological luo-vessel,luo-vessel diseases,diagnosis of diseased luo-vessel and diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases,are also defined.(2)Basic research on the diagnostic method of the luo-vessel in the Nei JingUsing quantitative research,we analyse the terms and chapters related to "luo" that appear in the Nei Jing and refer to the interpretations of later commentators such as Yang Shangshan,Wang Bing,Zhang Jiebin,Ma Maki and Zhang Zhicong,to analyse the classification,distribution and functional characteristics of the luo veins in the Nei Jing and to explain how the characteristics of the luo veins can help in the diagnosis of the luo veins.(3)Excavation of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei JingThe study is based on the Nei Jing,which is a text on the luo-vessels,and explores the luo-vessel diagnostic method from the perspective of diagnostic methods.The methods of diagnosis of the luo-vessels in the Nei Jing mainly include the colour diagnosis of the luo-vessels,the eye luo-vessel diagnosis,the fish luo-vessel diagnosis,the abdominal luo-vessel diagnosis,the forearm luo-vessel diagnosis,the ear luo-vessel diagnosis,the xu li diagnosis,the ankle luo-vessel diagnosis,the diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases,the diagnosis of blood collaterals at collateral-acupoint based on the evidence of luo-vessel diseases,the diagnosis of luo-vessel patterns,and the common diagnostic(prick)sites for diseases based on the articles on pricking the luo-vessels.(4)Analysis of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei JingThe methods of diagnosis of the luo-vessel,including the colour diagnosis of the luo veins,the morphological diagnosis of the luo-vessel,the eight types of local diagnosis of the luo veins,and the diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases,are explained and analysed separately,and two types of diagnosis related to the luo veins,namely the diagnosis of the site of the prick and the diagnosis of the reaction to the prick,are also summarised and analysed.On the whole,the methods of diagnosis of the luo veins can be divided into two main categories:"diagnosis of diseased luo-vessel" and "diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases".Depending on the form of diagnosis,there are two types of diagnosis:’static’ and ’dynamic’.In the "static" type of diagnosis,the colour,shape,location and number of the luo-vessel are the key elements of the diagnosis.In the "dynamic" type,amplitude,frequency and location are the key elements of the diagnosis.There are two main steps in the "diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases" method:the first is to collect clinical information through the four diagnoses,and the second is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the evidence.The first is to identify the meridians of the disease according to the disease symptoms and circulation pattern of the meridians already summarised in the Nei Jing;the second is to identify the cause and mechanism of the disease based on the characteristics of the specific luo-vessel diseases.(5)Application of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei JingThrough an in-depth analysis of the original text of the Nei Jing,the paper attempts to recreate the practical application of the method of pulse diagnosis.The luo-vessel diagnostic method of the Nei Jing has certain prerequisites for its application,and it is often used in conjunction with acupuncture treatment for the entire treatment process.The conditions to which it is applied range from skin and limb diseases on the outside to internal organs,from head and face diseases to leg and foot diseases on the bottom.When using the Diagnostic Method,attention should be paid to collecting as comprehensive a range of information as possible from the four clinical examinations,while paying attention to the differentiation between the meridians and veins when identifying the disease.When applying the method of diagnosis of disease ligaments,care should be taken to exclude the effects of age,temperature,season,geography,alcohol consumption,light and other factors.(6)Reflections and extensions of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei JingIn addition to digging and sorting out the system of luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei Jin,this paper also explores other issues related to the diagnosis method,such as the relationship between the colour diagnosis of the luo-vessel and the colour diagnosis of the skin,the relationship between the diagnosis of the luo-vessel and the diagnosis of acupuncture points,the influence of the place of manifest disease and the place of pricking on the formation of the early local diagnosis of the luo-vessel,and the influence of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei Jing on later generations.These issues are explored in order to contribute to a deeper understanding of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei Jing.Conclusions:(1)Through the excavation and analysis of the foundation,content and application of the Diagnostic Method of the luo-vessel in Nei Jing,this study basically constructs a system of the Diagnostic Method of the Luo-vessel of the Nei Jing.The rich record of the luo-vessel in the Nei Jing,as well as their own classification,distribution and functional characteristics,form the basis of the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei Jing.Through excavation and collation,it was finally concluded that the luo-vessel diagnosis method in the Nei Jing include two major categories,namely diagnosis of diseased luo-vessel and diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases,of which there are 10 methods of the diagnosis of diseased luo-vessel and 2 methods of the diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases.The luo-vessel diagnosis in Neijing is used for a wide range of conditions and the application situation.(2)The early development of the localized luo-vessel diagnosis was related to the luo-vessel at the manifestation of the disease and at the location of the disease respectively,with the prick site appearing as the location of the disease most of the time,and the examination of the luo-vessels at the prick site being one of the important sources for the development of the localized luo-vessel diagnosis.(3)The diagnosis method of luo-vessel in Nei Jing played an important role in paving the way and promoting paediatric diagnosis,diagnosis of luo-vessel diseases and The standardization of diseased luo-vessel diagnosis respectively in later times.(4)The diagnosis of the luo-vessels is mostly used in the service of acupuncture,and can be involved in the diagnostic phase,the intermediate phase between diagnosis and treatment,and the treatment phase of acupuncture.This may inspire the academic circle to think and explore the diagnosis and treatment mode conforming to the rules of acupuncture itself.
