The constrained observer-based controllers are useful when control theory is applied to solve problems of large order, geographically separated or have other institutional constraints placed on the transmission of information.; A reliable constrained structure controller is proposed which is robust to the failure from a preselected set of sensors or actuators for both continuous and discrete-time systems. Sufficient conditions in terms of Algebraic Riccati equations are provided that guarantee that the overall, constrained-structure-controlled closed-loop system is stable and has a predetermined {dollar}Hsbinfty{dollar} norm bound.; A parametrization of all stabilizing, constrained-structure, observer-based controllers is obtained in the form of Youla parametrization for a 2-channel system. Solution to {dollar}Hsb2{dollar} and {dollar}Hsbinfty{dollar} optimal control designs are provided for the constrained observer-based controllers for both continuous and discrete-time systems.; The problem of designing a centralized {dollar}Hsbinfty{dollar} controller for discrete-time system using current observer structure is presented. The design of constrained structure controller using current observer structure is considered. |
