The current study addressed a gap in neuropsychological research concerning the potentially multidimensional nature of noncredible performance in neuropsychological assessment. A noncredible performance group was drawn from a large archival data set. Analyses were to include factor analyses, multivariate analyses, and cluster analyses. It was hypothesized that: (a) several effort factors would emerge from the data, and (b) cluster analyses would yield several clusters similar to Larrabee's (2004) exploratory findings, suggesting that there are at least several different approaches to noncredible performance. Analyses supported only a single-factor model, however, preventing the comparison of different approaches.
