Abstract/Summary:
The President of the United States, George W. Bush, mandated the public health system in 2002 to implement a Smallpox Vaccination Project. Public health was expected to have effective leaders to manage these clinics and protect the public's health from a potential bioterrorist event such as smallpox. Organizational culture and the application of clinic management techniques were basic to accomplishing a successful project. The research undertaken for this dissertation was quantitative. The study design was descriptive. This study employed univariate and bivariate data analysis techniques. Two research instruments, The Organizational Cultural InventoryRTM (OCI) and The Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT(TM)), were used to compare the study population for data analysis. These two instruments were used to analyze whether there was an association between the successful and unsuccessful study participant organizations with perceived primary organizational culture and the emotional intelligence quotient scores.
