espite extraordinary healthcare expenditures in the United States, the quality of care provided to patients remains low. We explored opportunities to measure the quality of hospital care for Internal Medicine patients, using electronic health records (EHR). First, we investigated the association between physician models of care and three measures of quality--hospital readmission within 30 days, length of stay, and cost of hospital stay.
