This study evaluated the effectiveness of a community-based behavioral support program based on consumer satisfaction ratings and reductions of maladaptive target behaviors for individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. Data was collected from 115 participants receiving community-based behavioral support services through use of the Consumer Satisfaction Survey and quarterly behavioral reports based on recorded incidents of maladaptive target behaviors over one year. The results indicate the community-based behavioral support program was effective in reducing maladaptive target behaviors in individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors who reside in community settings. In addition, the consumers of these community-based behavioral support services were satisfied with the behavioral support they received based on ratings from the Consumer Satisfaction Survey. |
