Today,education is no longer confined to school space,school time,or something merely concerning teachers and students,but a social practice crossing space,time and people.It has become a national event.People pay attention to education not only out of how important education is for people's lives,but also for the inherent problems of education itself.To solve these problems,scholars have studied them by using a variety of methods from the multi-dimensional,multi-disciplinary angle,and offered different opinions,but the problems remain as before.This study regards the beginning,development and vision of educational practice as the clue,and attempts to explore the fundamental problems in basic educational practice from the new perspective of contemporary western rhetorical criticisim theory.In this study,the "rhetoric" means neither "misunderstanding speech","distorting the truth" in traditional Western rhetorical sense,nor rhetoric methods and rhetorical skills in Chinese academic context.It refers to all kinds of unnecessary and unreasonable discourse strategies and actions used by speakers to persuade,influence and control the hearers in the context of'rhetoric turn'.Meanwhile,rhetoric is critical and reflective,because it is accompanied with discourse power,ideology and so on.In this sense,the study of rhetoric of educational practice is also the rhetorical criticism on the problems of educational practice.Linguisticality,as the ontological characteristics of different beings,which determines the mutual configuration of existential forms among language,reality and human,also proves the isomorphic relationship between educational propositions and the problems in education practice.Rhetoric,as one of the means of language construction,influences and controls the way of thinking,act and the existential forms of the hearer.Accordingly,the rhetoric of educational propositions also imposes the same effect on individuals in the field of education,maintains the given problems and established order of educational practice,produces and reproduces them.Human life is the starting point of educational practice.However,the instrumentation logic of educational practice determines the inevitable biopolitic."Children are the flowers of the motherland,and the nation's future and hope" and"Children are the pillars of the state" express the nation-implement rhetoric of lives,which not only provides supportive discourse for the biopolitic,but provides a reasonable explanation for the political romanticism and narrow nationalism of education.As far as the process of educational practice,the competition becomes more intense,and exams and scores are especially the core competition content."Do not lose at the starting line",not only reveals the competitive nature of education,but advances the starting point of the competition by its competitive image and monologue discourse.This is the educational competition-rhetoric."Tests are the teachers' magic;scores are the students' lifeblood;beats are parents' law;copying is the forced trick" describes the objective fact that exams and scores are significant,meanwhile it uses the metaphors like "magic","lifeblood" to make hearers accept this fact,and at last test scores become the effective means and tools to control people.It is the educational control-rhetoric.The relief of biopolitic and the adaptation to the educational competition predicament,all comes from human desire.Education is actually a carrying form of desire.The desire is just "Knowledge change the fate".It is on the basis of ideology imagination rhetoric of "Knowledge is power",tells a story about grasping knowledge(first)brings the changed destiny(after),in order to arouse and inspire people's enthusiasm on learning knowledge,and maintain utilitarian education,it namely the imagination and narrative rhetoric of education vision.From the starting point,development to the end,educational practice is riddled with problems and scarred.At this point,the pragmatic rhetoric of "School is my home" becomes the right choice for school's legitimacy.However,school is not home,home nor school.This pragmatic rhetoric not only generalizes "family culture" in school field,but reproduce the home-country homegeneous logic,namely,"There is no individual within the family,and no community outside the home".With the "variation" of the meanings of linguistic meanings,it is human condition to be coerced in the power of rhetoric.The existentialism ethics of being responsible for oneself and the method of language game,namely,"playing dead drift" to enjoy the carnival moment,these two choices may be the odds of chips for human beings to succussfully face language and compete with language.
