Irony is an important concept in western culture.It first appeared as a concept of rhetoric,which had three meanings in the classical period:feint ignorance,Socratic irony and Romanesque irony.after being extended as a kind of artistic creation principle by German romanticism in the middle of the 19th century,it was gradually introduced into political economy criticism or philosophical thinking by Marx,Kierkegaard,etc.,and its scope and connotation were continuously expanded or evolved.after entering the post-modern society,irony gradually colonized the field of culture from literature and art,and can be seen in the field of image culture,mass culture and even daily life.It can be said that as a rhetorical philosophy in a broad sense,irony reflects the living conditions,thinking perspectives,self-cognition of contemporary people,and even becomes a subversive critical force,rather than just being regarded as a figure of speech.Postmodernism is called the age of irony.Postmodern culture or art is deeply marked by irony.Understanding postmodern irony has become one of the most important entry points and breakthroughs in understanding postmodern culture and art.It is of great significance to study it.The existing research indicates that the rhetoric philosophy of postmodern irony has not been effectively introduced into the descriptions or studies of postmodern culture,which are characterized by discord and ambiguities,so as to accurately feel the pulse of postmodern culture and its phenomena.The evolution of classical irony to postmodern irony has not been clearly delineated.In the post-modern irony,what changes have taken place between the subject(the satirist)and the object(the satirist)has not been cleared up theoretically.More importantly,what is the deep connection between the illusion of late capitalism and postmodern irony?How should we reveal the universal social reality of the irony of "thing" against person in the context of postmodernism?How to excavate the new important thoughts about proletarian liberation contained in "postmodern irony"?Such important issues have not been further studied and explored.Therefore,it is an important task of this paper to probe into the conceptual origin of postmodern irony,clarify the development path from classical irony to postmodern irony,and further explore the nature and characteristics of postmodern irony on the basis of summarizing the basic forms of postmodern irony.This paper is divided into six parts.Introduction.First,the connotation of the two key concepts of irony and postmodern irony is analyzed.Through in-depth conceptual analysis,the conclusion is that irony is not the truth itself,but the pursuit of truth.Second,it generalizes the relevant theories of postmodern irony theorists and finds that most of their theoretical significance comes from the rewriting of classical irony and modern irony.Third,the author clears up the relevant research status and analyzes the mirror image relationship between postmodern irony and irony on this basis.The first chapter is the origin of postmodern irony.This paper mainly discusses the origin,connotation and evolution of postmodern irony.among them,the first section reveals the original meaning of the concept of irony through the close reading of the texts such as the cloud,the symposium and the plea,aiming to find the difference and connection between it and postmodern irony.Emphatically analyzed the basic connotation of postmodern irony in the second quarter,and from the perspective of language game and inner mission postmodern irony can be divided into”after the irony" and "irony" after two kinds,in compares the differences between them on the basis of the uniqueness of postmodern irony proposed his own view,namely,decoding and encoding is in the writing of postmodern irony,it established between deconstruction and construction internal balancing mechanism.The third section examines the overall evolution path from classical irony to postmodern irony,and holds that they have undergone the evolution from God to man to thing to thing God.among them,postmodern irony is the transition from thing to thing God,and thing God means the symbolization of things.The above investigation is mainly carried out with the help of concrete examples,namely,the evolution of illusory genre.at last,the evolution of"irony" to "postmodern irony" is theoretically summarized from the perspective of connotation and essence.Since the concept of irony is a constantly developing and changing concept,the author always studies the concepts of "irony" and "postmodern irony" as a dynamic concept pedigree rather than a static concept form.The second chapter is subjective irony:the new proletarian irony.It is mainly the critical interpretation of Slavoj Zizek and his new proletarian irony.It is divided into three parts:first,the conceptual analysis,mainly the class and new proletariat two concepts of comparative analysis.Second,the new proletariat irony thought coding analysis.The main concepts and methods of the code of the new proletariat irony come from Slavoj Zizek.The author takes the triad theory of Slavoj Zizek's "truth-illusory world and symbolic world" as the theoretical weapon to re-encode Slavoj Zizek's new proletarian irony.They mainly include three aspects:the ironic code of the 'real world,the ironic code of the imaginary worldand the ironic code of the symbolic world Third,it is about the critique of Slavoj Zizek's new proletarian irony.The third chapter is object irony:the irony of objects.among them,the first section discusses the internal relationship between "illusion" and desire and desire picture,as well as the internal relationship between "illusion" and power.In the second section,the author analyzes the mechanism of "illusion" as a kind of flexible power,and then analyzes the important mission of postmodern irony,that is,to break the "illusion" of things.The main point of this chapter is that "the irony of thing" is actually the irony of thing God,and the transformation from thingto thing Godis the support of illusionbehind thing.When the use value of thing surpasses its illusory value and symbolic value,thingturns into thing god The irony of things against people is actually based on the illusion of things.Theillusory picture is essentially the picture of human desire.From the myth in the classical period to the myth of thingsin the era of consumption,human beings have changed from the primitive jungle to the jungle of things.In post-modernism,people create new illusions through the deification of objects and technology,which is reflected in the irony of objects and gods to people in daily life.This irony is also reflected in the various categories of illusion;The new illusory ideology is embodied in the relationship between man and himself,private and public,proletariat and bourgeoisie.Postmodern irony studies aim to reveal the logic narrative behind this new mode and how to free the proletariat from the bondage of bourgeois ideology.The fourth chapter is epistemological irony:mirror irony.It mainly includes three parts:mirror image:the ironic relationship between self and mirror image,mirror image andrearview mirror:mirror image irony dual aspect,and three groups of relations of mirror image irony.The core point of this chapter is:after entering the post-modern society,the relationship between economy,culture and people is increasingly close,economic factors are increasingly limiting the imagination of people,and the illusion of people is often about the illusion of commodity economy.In this sense,know yourself has become a new issue concerned by post-modern irony.Mirror irony also reveals the problem of "inner revolution" faced by the new proletariat,that is,a struggle between itself and inner illusion and revolution become an important task for the new proletariat to achieve its own liberation.The conclusion part is anti and return--a critique of postmodern irony.In the conclusion,the thesis makes some conclusions about the research of this thesis.The theoretical texture of postmodern irony is extremely rich.Postmodern irony has new theoretical connotation,types and basic characteristics different from classical irony and modern irony.The new aspect of post-modern irony is the humanization of things and the materialization of people.The problems highlighted by postmodern irony(such as the problems of individual and public relations,the wonder" of postmodern irony in culture and art,and the disenchantment of postmodern illusion)are of great epochal significance.The innovation points of this paper mainly include the following aspects:first,it summarizes the overall evolution course of irony(i.e.,classical irony modern irony postmodern irony)in line with the historical development facts,and describes the evolution path of postmodern irony in a relatively clear way for the first time.Second,it describes and constructs the unique form of postmodern irony from the perspective of morphology,and puts forward for the first time three basic types of "postmodern irony"(i.e.,subject irony,object irony and epistemological irony),and makes an in-depth analysis of the essence and basic characteristics of each type.Third,the thesis systematically excavates the ironic thoughts of postmodern irony experts Slavoj Zizek and Baudrillard.For example,Slavoj Zizek's new proletarian irony and Baudrillard's object irony(that is,the irony of things against people)are rarely touched by the previous academic circle.Iv.Intertextual interpretation of the relevant theories of postmodernists is carried out,which is incorporated into the overall framework of postmodern irony research.Important concepts such as redescription,double coding and self-identityand their connotations are clarified and integrated into specific examples of postmodern irony.Fifth,by combining theoretical analysis with the interpretation of literature and art examples,this paper comprehensively reveals the cultural aspect of postmodern irony and its critical power,providing a unique perspective of irony criticism(or criticism)for the practice of contemporary culture and literary criticism.
