| Objective:As the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)is getting higher and higher,it's become an important reason for disability of children.ASD affects children's health and quality of life,and even their family's.It challenges social security system a lot as well.However there's no miracle drug for ASD,the main treatment is special educaiton which is influenced by individual differences so much.There're also many physical and mental comorbidities for these kids,and many of these symptoms may be very stubborn,which leads to more discomfort for the kids and heavier burden for the parents.With the discovery of microbiota-gut-brain axis and common gastrointestinal symptoms of ASD patients,the pathogenesis of ASD is considered to be related with intestines.Professor Wang Junhong created "Yunpi Formula",which treats ASD based on spleen and showed effectiveness.In this research,we investigated the effect and mechanism of "Yunpi Formula" treating ASD,and its relationship with Zonulin and gut microbiotaMethods:40 ASD patients were included and devided into 2 groups,20 patients in each group.20 patients in the treatment group were treated with "Yunpi Formula",while the control group didn't receive chinese medicine treatment.All patients received special education based on applied behavior analysis at the same time.ABC,CARS,TCM spleen and stomach symptom evaluation,Zonulin and gut microbiota were tested for the treatment group before and after the treamtn,while ABC,CARS,TCM spleen and stomach symptom evaluation and Zonulin were tested for the control group.ABC,CARS,TCM spleen and stomach symptom evaluation were tested once a monthResults:For the total score of ABC,in the treatment group,comparing week 0's and other weeks',week 4's and week 8's,week 8's and week 12's,there's statistical difference.In the control group,there's statistical difference only between week 0's and week 12's,week 8's and week 12's.Comparing between groups,the score difference between week 8 and week 12 showed no statistical difference,but there's statistical difference for the score difference between week 0 and week 4,week 4 and week 8,week 0 and week 8,week 0 and week 12.For sensory score in ABC,in the treatment group,comparing week 0's and other weeks',there's statistical difference,but no statistical difference between week 4's and week 8's,week 8's and week 12's.In the control group,there's no statistical difference between one week's and another.Comparing between groups,the score difference between week4 and week 8,week 8 and week 12 showed no statistical difference,but there's statistical difference for the score difference between week 0 and week 4,week 0 and week 8,week 0 and week 12.For relating score in ABC,in the treatment group,there's no statistical difference between week 0's and week 4's,but there's between week 0's and week 8's or week 12's,and between week 4's and week 8's,week 8's and week 12's.In the control statistical difference between week 0's and week 4's,week 4's and week 8's,but there was between week 0's and week 8's or week 12's.In the control group,there's only statistical difference between week 8's and week 12's,but there's rebound in week 8.Comparing between groups,the score difference between week 8 and week 12 showed no statistical difference,but there's statistical difference for the score difference between week 0 and week 4,week 4 and week 8,week 0 and week 8,week 0 and week 12.For language score in ABC,in the treatment group,there's no statistical difference between week 0's and week 4's,week 8's and week 12's,but there was between week 0's and week 8's or week 12's,week 4's and week 8's.In the control group,there's no statistical difference between one week's and another.Comparing between groups,the score difference between week 0 and week 4,week 8 and week 12,week 0 and week 12 showed no statistical difference,but there's statistical difference for the score difference between week 4 and week 8,week 0 and week 8.For social and self-help score in ABC,in the treatment group,comparing week 0's and other weeks',week 4's and week 8's,week 8's and week 12's,there's statistical difference.In the control group,there's no statistical difference between one week's and another.Comparing between groups,the score difference between week 4 and week 8,week 0 and week 8 showed no statistical difference,but there's statistical difference for the score difference between week 0 and week 4,week 8 and week 12,week 0 and week 12.For CARS score,in the treatment group and control group,comparing week 0's and other weeks',week 4's and week 8's,week 8's and week 12's,there's statistical difference.Comparing between groups,there's statistical difference for the score difference in every period.For TCM spleen and stomach symptom evaluation,there were over 70%patients with positive symptoms in both groups at the beginning.For the scores,in the treatment group,comparing week 0's and other weeks',week 4's and week 8's,week 8's and week 12's,there's statistical difference While there's no difference in the control group.Comparing between groups,there's statistical difference for the score difference in every period.Except "magersuht",positive patients with each symptom decreased after "Yunpi Formula" treatment.For serum Zonulin,comparing the rate of change in the 2 groups,there's statistical difference.For gut microbiota,Escherichia decreased in the treatment groupConclusions:It's effective to treat Autism Spectrum Disorder with "Yunpi Formula"based on spleen in traditional chinese medicine."Yunpi Formula" can improve behaviors in ABC and in sensory,relating,body and object use,language and social and self-help respectively.It can also improve abilities evaluated in CARS.It's better to use "Yunpi Formula"together with special education than only special education."Yunpi Formula" can improve spleen and stomach symptoms in traditional chinese medicine.The mechanism of "Yunpi Formula" may be decreasing Escherichia which leads to descending Zonulin and better gut barrier.Thus less potential harmful substances will enter system circulation to affect central nervous system. |
