The Research On Communication Of Chinese Chen Prophecy

Research of Chen prophecy has been under the category of History,Literature and Philosophy for a long time.In recent decades,researchers of Journalism and communications paid more attention to this field,especially in studies of communication thoughts history,folk rhyme spread,religions spread,and theory of public opinion.With the research method of communication,this dissertation distinctively tried to explore into the systematic analysis of the communication media of Chen prophecy,the coding and decoding of Chen prophecy,and the relationship between Chen prophecy and public opinion,in addition to the dissemination characteristics of Shichen(poetry prophecy),Yaochen(rhyme prophecy),and Buchen(divination prophecy).This dissertation analyzed the similarities and differences between Wei and Chen.It found that after dynasties of control and prohibition of religious Weichen prophecy,the communication of Chen Prophecy change to the nongovernmental way.The dissertation also studies the propagation characteristics of Buchen(divination prophecy)which was less emphasized in previous studies.Started with the internal logic of Chen Prophecy communication,the dissertation explains the origin of this research and the subject matters of Chen Prophecy communication,and it reports the significance,approach and basic framework of the research.It also reviews and analyzes the existing studies on this subject.With the previous interpretation of Chen Prophecy,this dissertation defines Chen prophecy from the perspective of information dissemination,and categorizes into Weichen,Yaochen,Shichen,and Buchen in terms of different communication medias.It discusses the process of creating and interpreting Chen prophecy from the perspective of encoding and decoding.This dissertation summarizes the features of political Chen prophecy,analyzing with individual historical figures.During the time of social turbulence,the feature of public opinion is more obvious in Chen prophecy communication.Using the mass uprisings examples,e.g.the yellow turbans uprising(a large-scale peasant uprising at the close of the eastern Han dynasty),the dissertation explains the communication of widespread Chen prophecy from the perspective of public opinion.In these cases,opinion leaders conveyed some information to the public by creating and interpreting Chen prophecies.The purpose of this dissertation is to reveal how their identity characteristics and social influence reflected in information dissemination.The dissertation also analyzes the feature of Chen prophecy communication during the process of abdication,and studies how the power executors control the public opinion during the process.Yaochen,spreading the information via the media of rhymes,is a popular Chen prophecy.This dissertation focuses on the development of Yaochen(thyme prophecy)in terms of communication.Influenced by the theory of heaven-human induction,Yaochenn(thyme prophecy)was always caused by the celestial phenomena or auspicious signs.Therefore,it is the important link for research of Yaochen(thyme prophecy)communication to analyze the spreading process of anomalies thyme prophecy.Shichen(poetry prophecy)which transfers information via the media of poetry has its unique presage effect.In this dissertation,the cause of this unique effect is analyzed in terms of its far-fetched meaning,subconscious effects,and rhetorical features.For the prediction Shichen which has the presage effect at the very beginning of its creation,this dissertation is focusing on its interpretation process and communication effects.And for the Shichen written-on-the-wall?the key factor of analyzing is to clarify the feature of different places of the wall.Divination,a prediction behavior based on the probabilistic nature of objects,has some similarities with Chen prophecy which predicts the future events with enigmatic languages.This dissertation reveals the characteristics of its dissemination and decoding process by the instance analysis of different ways of divinations.It also discusses Qianchen(Sign Prophecy)which still remains at present,and analyzes the changing of its communication medias.Furthermore,this dissertation also studies the folk-custom of drawing divination sticks at New Year in Hong Kong area from the perspective of prophecy decoding.The fact that Chen Prophecy effect has been declining and Chen prophecy communication was demystified is indisputable,which is the result of development of science.Chen prophecy,the multidisciplinary study object,therefore,should be analyzed and criticized with the scientific approaches.It is not objective to belittle or overstate the research value of Chen prophecy.This dissertation analyzes the Chen prophecy which is still effective in contemporary era and gives some suggestions of coping strategy.This dissertation will contribute to the further study of Chen Prophecy communication.
