With the rapid development of urbanization,the pollution of atmospheric particles in China has become one of the main problems that can not be negglected.The problem of regional particulate pollution has had a substantial impact on human health,traffic safety,and climate change.Therefore,it has important sense for the detection and research of atmospheric particles.Lidar is a kind of powerful tool to detect the space and temporal variation characteristics of atmospheric particles.It can provide effective data for the detection of particulates by the detection and inversion of the backscattering signal,which formed by the reaction between the laser and atmospheric particles.At present,the detection of particles is still dominated by means of ground-based fixed-point lidar,airborne lidar,and spaceborne lidar,which are more suitable for winder regional detection.However,none of them can obtain valid results on urban agglomeration scale.The mobile vehicle lidar is a piece of new lidar technology,which proposed to detect the particles on regional scale.It is a new method to realize regional particulate pollution monitoring.The mobile vehicle lidar system is an optimized ground-based lidar system on a mobile platform.A global position system(GPS)is added to record the exact location information.So the spatial distribution of particles on the observation route can be obtained with the combination of location information and corresponding aerosol extinction profiles.As the vehicle lidar has a high level of agility,it can shift rapidly to play an important role in responding to emergencies.Additionally,it also has a good mode of mobile detection.The mobile vehicle lidar can not only obtain the distribution characteristics of particles on regional scale quickly by detecting the particle distribution along the moving path,but also can distinguish the regional pollution source,determine the transport pathway,and quantify the transport flux to evaluate the influence of regional particle transport on the forms of heavy pollution in urban.In this paper,observations based on a mobile vehicle lidar were carried out to investigate the regional particles,obtain the distribution characteristics of particles quickly,and verify the accuracy of the air quality model forecast to realize rapid and real-time observation of the particle generation and disappearance process in heavy pollution period.Combined with the PM2.5 and meteorological data,the mobile vehicle lidar was applied to investigate the distribution and transport characteristic of particles.The paper firstly introduce the mobile lidar system,and then carry out stereoscopic observations of regional particles,discuss the methods of obtaining particle mass concentration profiles and regional transport flux by taking Beijing as the example.In the paper,the influence of relative humidity on the relationship between PM2.5 mass concentration and aerosol extinction coefficient is mainly discussed.A picewise conversion method is built based on relative humidity to realize the conversion between PM2.5 mass concentration and aerosol extinction coefficient.And,furthermore,based on the previous study,research about PM2.5 transport flux is carried out by adopting the method of single and conjugated observation on a closed path.The wind data obtained by the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model,was combined with the vehicle lidar data to realize rapid monitoring of PM2.5 transport flux.Ultimately,this paper summarizes the applications of the vehicle mobile lidar in detail.Fiestly,the mobile vehicle lidar is applied to detect the particle distribution along the moving path,verify the accuracy of air quality model,andrealize the trace detection of pollution in the particle generation or disappearance process.Secondly,the mobile vehicle lidar is applied to distinguish the regional pollution source and transport pathway,evaluate the influence of regional particle transport.Thirdly,the mobile vehicle lidar is applied to evaluate the air quality security work in some remarkable events period.All of the applications show the effectiveness of the mobile vehicle lidar system on the aspect of detection of regional particle pollution.
