Assessment Of Information Influence Based On Information Field And Applicated On Citation Analysis

Popularity of the Internet makes the account of impacted fields by information disseminationmuch more than any other time in history. At the same time, the role of information or events invarious fields such as science and technology, economy, culture, politics, arts and other areas isgrowing, and the trend of impact from interdisciplinary is becoming evident. Research theinformation influence and impacted areas can help people to make pre-reaction about theemergencies that may occur. So the research of information influence has great significance andvalue on various fields. However, there are many factors and indicators about the informationinfluence that we must to analysis. The difficulty about the relationship of these factors andindicators is intricate, while the impact to the various fields from information is hard to accurateanalysis and metrics. Besides, information covers a very wide range of meanings such as a newsevent, a web page, and an academic paper which can be regarded as information. Presently, oneinformation influence assessment methods is still utilized in a particular area, which is difficult toextend it to other areas. The impact of information may have different reference value dependingon the impact of different space and particular areas, so we need to measure the informationinfluence from many angles. In this paper, in order to solve these problems, we propose a methodof assessment information influence based on information field and use the information fieldmodel to measure the impacted extent of influence on the field of information dissemination.Then use the information potential energy, entropy of information field and the informationinfluenced space to assess information influence from multi-angle perspectives. The method toassess the information influence presented in this paper can resolve the problem which formermethods only use one formula to estimate information influence, and the new method based oninformation field provides new ideas to solve similar problems. The value of information fieldmodel is verified by experiments, and this quantitative assessment method has importantapplication value in many fields.The general research content and innovation spot of this paper are listed as follows:(1) This paper uses a model of information field to research the rules of informationdissemination. In the field of information influence assessment, quantitative assessment methodsand universal models are lack. We use information field to research the information influenceand information impacted space which is based on the force field in physics and the data fieldtheory. Firstly, as carrier of information dissemination and the scope or space informationspreads, the information field can reflect the impact of the various impacted areas through thehierarchical constructions and the relationships between areas. Secondly, research the structure ofthe information field and the factors related to assess the influence, so the information field is thebasic tool to achieve to these aims. Research the law of information spreads and the impactstrength in the impacted fields. Besides, the rules of construct information field, the definition ofthe elements and the relationships between factors of information field are points to calculate theassessment value of information influence. The construction rules of information field depend onconcrete fields, different fields may have different cases. It must be in line with the objective logic, this will not only ensure the flexibility and scalability of the information field, but alsoavoid the confusion definition of information field. So the information field is finally built toassess the information influence, and further, we use information field to research the spaceinformation spreads and to expand the application of the information field model.(2) Use information potential energy to assess information influence is the paper’s strategy ofmultiple perspectives to estimate influence. Currently in terms of assessment of informationinfluence is often measured by a single formula, but due to the impact of information in aparticular field which have different reference value depending on the impacted space, so weanalyzed the different impacted fields and proposed to use a multiple perspective method toestimate information influence. With the deepening of research and experimental development,we found that when information spreads, some information only spreads in its own field, theothers may spread in many fields include its own fields and not its own fields, and this isassociated with their information influence. So this article assesses the impact of informationfrom multiple angles, including use depth information potential energy to evaluate the influencein the information’s own field, use breadth information potential energy to evaluate the influencenot in information’s own field, use special breadth information potential energy to evaluate thebreadth information potential energy in information’s own subdivided areas.(3) Use entropy of information field to assess information influence and the impacted space isthe paper’s strategy of multiple perspectives to estimate influence. Particularly the value ofinfluence calculated by quantitative assess method of potential energy is almost the same, thenuse entropy of information field can reflect the order of the impacted areas in information field,and this is an angle of qualitative analysis to assess information influence. Besides, find themainly impacted space both in quantity method and qualitative analysis are a new angel toestimate influence. Comparing to quantity method, find the mainly influenced field is moreintuitive to inspect. In this part, we mainly research the algorithm of space definition. Otherresearch is focused on finding and assessing the impacted area, significant of the impacted areas,relations between information influence and the impacted space, and the effects of the influenceby impacted space. When research the influence, this article uses many experiments and relatedexamples, such as the citation analysis is the mainly field this article used.
