To View The Road Of Women Emancipation From Population Production Angle

The aim of this paper is to talk about the relatively complete women’s emancipation road. In our traditional women liberation theory, too much emphasis is placed on the concept of gender equality, such as equal education, equal employment, equal pay for equal work, equal political participation, and so on, however, it’s ignored for the women’s biological characteristics and the special production, or population production, taken up by women. So to the greater extent, it is the formal equality coming to be true. The pursuit for the essentially equality between men and women needs us to take a more complete perspective on women’s liberation, that is not only pursuit for equality, but for difference, in an other word, pursuit for the equality on the gender difference. So it’s necessary for us to offer women population production the special compensation. Therefore the studying of women’s population production is a red lion of this paper, and we take the methods of document explaining, comparative research, historic tracing, comprehensive analysis and case studying.Firstly, we will look for the basis in Maxis classic works:Marx and Engels put forward at first that the population production mainly taken up by women constitute an important aspect of the social economic foundation, and gender oppression of men to women constitute the primary form of class oppression. Next, we will discuss western feminist’s inheritance and innovation of this theory:they criticize that Engels proposed social value of population production, but he didn’t directly raise its compensation ways, western feminist put forward that women’s birth and housework activity create social value, and they try to seek the method of compensation for housework. At the same time, we will analyze the historic experience of the women’s liberation:in the early stage the Women’s Liberation Movement is in pursuit of equality between men and women, since1960’s due to the awareness of that the competition with men according to the same standard does not enable women obtain essentially equality, the main goal of the Women’s Liberation Movement becomes struggling out of the difficult situation of putting work an family double tasks on their shoulders, the United States feminist leader Friedan calls it the second stage of the Movement. Finally the Women’s Liberation Movement gradually gains the social care for population production by social security system in welfare states emerging in western countries. The Nordic countries provide mothers with kinds of economic supports and social services for reducing housework, and become countries where women are treated friendly. China is seeking the specific methods of compensating for the social value of women’s population production through social security system. Women have made fundamentally important contributions to human by breeding species, but in the long history they are still oppressed in subordinate state because women’s population production happens in private family, and its private meaning covers its social meaning. Only in socialism countries or in the society which has the nature of socialism, the social value of women’s population production will be recognized. In view of the special characteristics of the population production which only creates useful value(future workers), serves for the long term interest of our society and has uncertainty consequence, it’s not suitable to compensate the population production by the principle of distribution according to work,which is a principle based on the law of commodity exchange; the compensation for it can only be realized as following way:our society supports and ensures women finishing activity of breeding and fostering children with the distribution according need in social fund of the society security system. So women’s Liberation Road is a complex scheme:women not only must have equal rights to participate in activities in social material production field, but also must have assistance provided by society in the population production field.
