The Text Evolution And Cultural Connotation On Zhong Kui’ Story

Zhong Kui is a famous literary image in Chinese culture. He born out of Taoism,and was very popular in China.After the integration with folk beliefs,he became a famous ghost hunter.In fact, the formation of the story about Zhong Kui experienced a process from simple to complex. The evolvement of the story about Zhong Kui has through the course of the entire history of Chinese culture. The various plot story elements about Zhong Kui has associated with many important cultural phenomenon. We should put the Zhong Kui’s legend into the ancient culture. The reach about this formation process and the evolution of story about Zhong Kui can help us to explore the whole Chinese basic context of the evolution.This paper based on the variety of texts collection of Zhong Kui-centric, in accordance with the development and evolution of the order context. And then, this paper analyses the development of the plot elements of story about Zhong Kui to show the evolution of culture context and the different cultural backgrounds. This paper expects to explore the story of evolution and interaction between cultures. This part is the most important part of Zhong Kui’s story.The origin of Zhong Kui is a mystery.It goes hand in hand with folk beliefs of China. Also, folk beliefs has connections with Taoism.The third chapter deals with Zhong Kui sister’s love and marriage. The evolution of story about Zhong Kui’s sister implicits etiquette laws of China.This is a part of culture,and the key to understanding Chinese culture. Although the story of love and marriage appears very later,it is very important part of the whole story especially in ming and qing dynasty.The forth chapter analyses the imperial examination in Zhong Kui’s story. Through the study of Zhong Kui’s identity,we can see the chage of imperial examination. In ming and qing dynasty, the imperial examination has gradually declined in the era of change in the scene.The fifth chapter analyses the royal power.In this part,the key is the death of Zhong Kui. It implicits the royal power of ancient China.The royal power keeps stable,but it still has many changes.Sui and Tang dynasty is a watershed.Before this, the emperor and noble is important in polity.After this,it becomes emperor and scholar-bureaucrat.This is the basic form of royal power in ancient China.The appendix is literature review, designed to sort out the relevant literature and the basic material conditions of legend about Zhong Kui.
