The study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty has been discussed by more scholars, but mostly they are from the angle of academic history, academic thought history, politics or literature, literary theory. History books relate to the Eastern Han Dynasty Confucian classics, but just a little research history of single classic in the Eastern Han Dynasty contains Confucian classics study, It just discusses the characteristics of teaching about Confucian classics study. At present, there is no special comprehensive and systematical work to discuss the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Therefore, this paper attempts to analyse the initial state and discuss characteristics in the spreading process about the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty starting from the original historical materials. The research focuses of the paper:how to teach the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty or say how to spread? What are the characteristics in the process of spreading? What are the characteristics of the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty in the whole process of spreading? These are the basic historical data of the Eastern Han Dynasty about comprehensive understanding and learning of the study of Confucian classics. They are also the basic information about further the study of Confucian classics of this period. The purpose of this paper is to provide and give readers and researchers some reference through this tentative study.This paper discusses Confucian classics about the Eastern Han Dynasty, its scope is defined in the "Five Classics" range, namely "Poetry","Book","Rites","Yi","Chun Qiu". The study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty is divided into jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classic. Jinwen study of Confucian classics takes the leading role through the debates between jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classic. In the process of their development, jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classic develop respectively and impact on each other, and finally they become a "school". The first five chapters of the paper reorganize the original study state of the "Five Classics" in the Eastern Han Dynasty along the two lines of jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classic:Who has studied? How to study? What’s distinguishing feature in the course of the study or the spreading process? The last five chapters place the study of Confucian classic in the Eastern Han Dynasty into the great whole social and academic background to consider and point out the characteristics on the study of Confucian classic in the Eastern Han Dynasty:The politicization of the study of Confucian classics, the developing chenwei tendency of the study of Confucian classics, the literature and the historical tendency of the study of Confucian classics, the "through learning" characteristics of the study of Confucian classics, the dispute between jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classics, etc.The Eastern Han Dynasty’s "poem", is mainly "MAO Poetry"(guwen study of Confucian classics) and "Qi Poetry","Lu Poetry","Han Poetry"(jinwen study of Confucian classics)."MAO Poetry" is not official learning, but it Exists in the folk wisdom. It also has won the acceptance of the court, and at the same time, it is popular with scholars. Famous scholars such as Zheng Zhong, Jia Kui, Ma Rong, Zheng Xuan all study "MAO Poetry". Especially after depicting "MAO Poetry" by Zheng Xuan,"MAO Poetry" has reached its zenith and eventually it has academic orthodox position instead of the "Three Poetry"."Lu Poetry" and "Han Poetry" still have a broad mass base, yet the development status of the "Qi Poetry" is low."Book" theory of the Eastern Han Dynasty is divided into guwen study of Confucian classics "Shang Shu" theory and jinwen study of Confucian classics "Shang Shu" Theory. Guwen study of Confucian classics "Shang Shu" theory has three systems: ancient text system of Xu Yun’s and Liu Xin’s students, ancient text system of Du Lin, Gai Yu’s and Zhou Fang’s system. Jinwen study of Confucian classics "Shang Shu" theory mainly has three theories, including Ouyang’s, younger and older Hou’s. Ouyang’s "Shang Shu" is most popular."Rites" theory of the Eastern Han Dynasty is mainly guwenjing "Zhou Li". During the Eastern Han Dynasty, guwenjing "Zhou Li" is most popular. It is in the first place until Zheng Xuan wrote "Note" for "Three Rites ". At the same time,"Yi Li" and "Li Ji" of guwen study of Confucian classics also has development with the appearance of Lu Zhi’s "Li Ji Jie Gu ".Yi-ology Theory of the Eastern Han Dynasty mainly has guwen study of Confucian classics:" Yi-ology Theory of Fei "," Yi-ology Theory of Shi "," Yi-ology Theory of Meng "" Yi-ology Theory of Liang Qiu "," Yi-ology Theory of Jing ". In this period,"Yi-ology Theory of Fei" on guwen study of Confucian classics is growing. Early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty scholars mainly have Chen Yuan, Zheng Zhong, etc., then Ma Rong, Zheng Xuan, Xun Shuang, etc. Yi-ology theory of Meng and jinwen study of Confucian classics is more prevalent."Chun Qiu" theory of the Eastern Han Dynasty mainly has guwen study of Confucian classics "Zuo Shi Chun Qiu" and jinwen study of Confucian classics "Gong Yang Chun Qiu" and "Gu Liang Chun Qiu". Guwen study of Confucian classics "Zuo Shi Chun Qiu" has a significant development. There have been some important scholars such as Jia Kui, Ma Rong, etc."Chun Qiu Gong Yang Jie Gu" of He Xiu is a Summary work. Jinwen study of Confucian classics "Gong Yang Chun Qiu" develops relatively weak.The politicization of the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty is a characteristic of the development about the study of Confucian classics. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, due to the upper ruler’s attention and promotion, the development of study of Confucian classics presents a thriving situation. The political service of the development about study of Confucian classics is still an important function in this period. Meanwhile chenwei becomes a kind of special academic phenomenon in society of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Using chenwei as a tool to account for the study of Confucian classics is another remarkable characteristic. Judging from the rules of the development of the study of Confucian classics itself, chenwei is a expression that the scholars of the study of Confucian classics give during giving notes to scriptures."Bai Hu Tong Yi" gives a symbol that chenwei has combined with the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Chenwei has become such an important learning in the Eastern Han Dynasty that the scholars of the study of Confucian classics explain scriptures with chenwei. They go through a process where they are for chenwei instead of being against it.Teaching discipline and domestic discipline play an important role in explaining, using and teaching the study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty and they are the basic measure to test their correctness. Theory of syntactic analysis in the Eastern Han Dynasty thrives, too. The scholars’concept of teaching discipline and domestic discipline gradually begin to fade, and they study both guwen study of Confucian classics and jinwen study of Confucian classics in order to complement each other and achieve mastery through a comprehensive study. The general studies about the study of Confucian classics of the Eastern Han Dynasty spring up in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The scholars all study over two kinds of study of Confucian classics, and the studying both guwen study of Confucian classics and jinwen study of Confucian classics is becoming a fashion after the rise of guwen study of Confucian classics. The Eastern Han Dynasty is a flouring period of the study of Confucian classics. The development of the study of the Confucian classics has an important effect on literature, history etc. There is no doubt that the development of literature and history makes a mark of the study of Confucian classics, which shows the universality of spread about the study of Confucian classics in Eastern Han Dynasty and which is another remarkable characteristic of spread of the study of Confucian classics.The study of Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty is divided into jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classics. Since Liu Xin opened the prelude to debate of jinwen study of Confucian classics and guwen study of Confucian classics in the Western Han Dynasty, by the constant efforts of Ban Gu, Zhang Heng, Wang Chong, Huan Tan, Zheng Xing, Zheng Zhong, Wei Hong, Jia Hong, Xu Shen, Ma Rong, Fu Qian, Lu Zhi, Cai Yong etc., Zheng Xuan has a great success. Eventually guwen study of Confucian classics comes to spread and plays a leading academic role.
