The dam is a kind of water conservancy project which is related to the people’s livelihood. Real-time collection of dam safety monitoring data and research and application of professional model for analysising monitoring data are the key to ensuring dam safety. In the construction management of water conservancy project, there are a lot of puzzles in the water resources industry, such as the lack of basic data, the transaction not timely, the low reliability of monitoring data and model. In recent years, the rapid development of the application of cloud computing technology, to provide a solution to that problem. However, the existing dams safety monitoring model are in traditional computing environment design and operation, the cloud computing environment characteristic of the service mode, service mode, service scale and multi tenant, virtual service mechanism is not available in traditional computing environment. This will bring a series of challenges. This paper explore a cloud service model for dam safety monitoring model in the cloud computing environment based on the "12th Five-Year" national science and technology support plan project "major water conservancy project construction information digitization standardization special technology development research" (SQ2012BAJY3301). On the basis of the above research, the techniques and methods of the dam safety monitoring model operation, combination and selection in the cloud computing environment are studied. The main results of this study are as follows:(1) Study and explore a new application schema of dam safety monitoring model. Aiming at the problems such as data distortion, the model’s poor universality and operation difficulty and so on, which are casused by traditional way about the multi-transmission of monitoring data, the customization development of monitoring model software, and the decentralized deployment of the monitoring system. This paper analyzes the application of method and scenarios to realize data transmission, model application, model improvement, system construction based on cloud platform by using cloud computing technology, and dicusses its operation principle and business model.(2) Research and design of the model automatic combination method and customized combination mechanism in cloud computing environment. This paper analyzes the interaction States and characteristics between the model entity itself, the model and the model, the model and the cloud platform. In view of the demand of the combination between the models which are relatively independent of function, a semantic driven model automatic composition method based on knowledge is proposed, including three steps about model matching, model determination and model combination. In view of the above methods can not fully meet the situation, this paper explores a mechanism of customized model combination by a professional personnel with rich experience, which can support to aided design and improve the complex model of dam safety monitoring by computer simulation.(3) Research and propose a model selection method based on twice dynamic optimization in cloud computing environment. According to the dynamic characteristics of the two steps of model weighting and model selection, a kind of two dynamic optimization mechanism is designed; To solve traditional sample space is not comprehensive, the algorithm puts forward the similar aggregate model as the sample space of selection, considers both the combined model and the single model, takes the absolute error as evaluation index, and selects relative optimal combination model by comparing the predicted value and the measured value. This algorithm can be used to solve the dynamic selection optimization problem, which has a certain universality.(4) A cloud services platform for dam safety monitoring model is built on the basis of the above research. Using the cloud service platform, the dam safety monitoring system of four practical water conservancy projects were built, which meet the requirements of the construction period of the construction safety monitoring system is very short. And the monitoring data, monitoring model and monitoring system are stored and deployed in the cloud platform, which can effectively solve the problems of the current monitoring data distortion and monitoring model’s low reliability because of the monitoring data and model distributed storage, management and use. Through the above, the research work of this paper is verified by the above practical application.The research results in this paper has been successfully applied in three major scientific research projects, which are "major water conservancy project construction information digitization standardization special technology development research","service oriented water conservancy project quality and schedule control key technology" and "water conservancy simulation based on cloud services computing system generation platform", and achieved good application effect. The application results show that the cloud service model of dam safety monitoring is an effective supplement to the research and development production and management model of traditional dam safety monitoring model, and support rapid construction of dam safety monitoring system to meet the needs of different types of dams, with high feasibility and practicality.
