Research On The Impacting Relationship Among Entrepreneurial Environment, Entrepreneurial Orientation And Entrepreneurial Performance In Industry Cluster

Industry clusters are seen as natural business incubators for their resource-sharing features that benefit from the geographic concentration. While industry clusters provide the conditions and environment for enterprises creation, they are also subject to the constraints of corporate entrepreneurial orientation; entrepreneurial orientation will help improve entrepreneurial performance, while it is highly dependent on the external environment; the relationship among industry clusters entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial performance is a complex process. It becomes the bottleneck for industrial clusters growth of the issues about how the industry clusters can provide good business environment to start-ups to promote their high performance, and continually attract and create new entrepreneurial activities that facilitate the clusters'sustainable development. Therefore, the research on industry cluster environment and the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurial performance has an important theoretical and practical significance to promote the optimization of industrial clusters environment and foster entrepreneurial performance and growth.Firstly, this thesis reviews the domestic and international literatures about the industrial clusters environment and entrepreneurial environments, proposes the content and dimensions of industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment through the literature review and in-depth interviews, it also analyzes the characteristics of industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment, defines entrepreneurial environment measurement system and indicators.Secondly, based on the analysis the concept of entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial performance, the theoretical concept model of the relationship among the industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurship performance is proposed; by selecting the survey samples from the three industry clusters in Wuhan, Hangzhou and Wenzhou, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis methods are applied to develop the scales to measure the industry cluster entrepreneurial environment's impacts on the entrepreneurial performance; structural equation models are adopt to examine the hypothesizes on the relationship between the relevant variables, based on this, the relationship model of industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurship is constructed to reveal the interaction relationship of the three factors.Thirdly, according to the empirical research and guided by the relationship model of the industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurship performance, the thesis also explores the incentives mechanism of industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment on the entrepreneurial orientation and the improvement mechanism of the entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurial performance, to raise the integrated mechanism of industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurship performance. Based on this, it further construct the integrated contingency model of the entrepreneurial environment' impact on entrepreneurial performance under the industrial clusters dynamics development.Finally, by applying the case study method, the thesis validates the influence of Wuhan Optical Valley industry cluster'entrepreneurial environment on the enterprises entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial performance, and based on the business environment dichotomy method, it also builds a eight-factor entrepreneurial environment incentive model for Wuhan Optics Valley; The mechanism of corporate entrepreneurial orientation's impact on business performance is applied to build a model to illustrate entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurship performance in Wuhan Optical Valley cluster; it reveals the differences of the various level of the entrepreneurial orientation different impact on business performance variables and proposes the environment development strategy for the Wuhan Optical Valley cluster.This thesis theoretically interprets the industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment's influence on entrepreneurial performance, and the inter-related effects among industrial cluster entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurship performance to build a model that illustrate the interactions among the three factors. It also further enriched the theories of the industrial cluster environment and entrepreneurship, and provides the guidance for the enterprises within the industrial cluster to make their strategic choice and perform entrepreneurial behavior well. Furthermore, it has important theoretical significance and practical value to the further escalate the new era of industrial clusters growth, promote sustained economic and healthy development of regional clusters, and also provide an important reference for government to formulate policies to enhance the business performance of industrial clusters.
