Influential Mechanism Research Of Industrial Park Cluster Network Structure On Enterprise Performance

Industrial Park plays a significant role as an important means for the development of industrial clusters in promoting economic and social development. Park enterprise, as most important organizational structure for park economy, which economic benefits are good or bad has contributed to the development of park economy. Although large numbers of industrial park we have, but resources within parks and enterprise relatively low. For conforming to the requirements of the network economic and global economic times, companies need to make more use of external networks to achieve business goals, namely improving business performance more dependented on resources acquired from external networks. Therefore, the formation of regional innovation networks become the sign of park developed. How to foster and promote the formation and development of park cluster network, and to build an effective network structure for the value resources acquisition, is of great significance of promoting park total benefits, enhancing regional innovation ability and comprehensive competitive power.In the present study of this issue, most focused on the discussion of network structure's direct impact on firm innovation or enterprise performance, and few literatures discussed the affective mechanisms of network structure on enterprise performance. Network structure reflects the characteristics of the external environment enterprise embedded in. Resources acquired from outside affected on enterprise performance, but which also impacted by the characteristics of enterprise themselves, at the same time, the role of absorptive capacity deserves to be a further exploration. But such studies remain scarce. In addition, park as a special kind of networks, the influence of park management innovation on the cluster structure are ignored. These shortcomings made the current finds can not effectively play a guiding role of building our park.Based on the theories of the park cluster network structure, resource baseed views and absorptive capacity, as the research object of park cluster network structure and interior enterprise, this paper has discussed deeply the influence factors of enterprise performance. In the related theoretical research, on the basis of the investigation of cluster enterprise network structure and related conditions in Changde Deshan Economic Development Zone, Changsha Economic Development Zone, Suzhou Industrial Park and Beijing Zhongguancun Science Park. A questionnaire survey obtained 229 valid questionnaires. We combined these datas with SPSS 14.0 hierarchical regression analysis and structural equation modeling analysis, to verify the proposed model and related assumptions. In order to make research findings more convincing, we interview three representative enterprises for a typical case study.Main contents of the paper:(1)The role mechanism for effective park network structure plays to enterprise resources aquisition; (2)The adjustment function mechanism for relationship managenent ability plays to between park network structure and resources aquisition; (3)The direct role mechanism for resources acquisition plays to enterprise performance and the intermediary role for resources acquisition plays to in relationship between park network structure and enterprise performance; (4) The adjustment mechanism role for absorptive capacity plays to in relationship between resources acquisition and enterprise performance; (5)The role mechanism for management innovation of industrial park plays to promote the effective network structure.Main conclusions of the paper:(1 Relationship strength, relationship quality, network size and network openness are positively related to resource acquisition, indicates cluster network structure can actively promote enterprise to access resources and improve ability to obtain resources. (2)Relationship management capabilities adjust relationship between cluster network structure and resources acquisition, explains that the capacity of corporate managing external relations can effectively act on the four dimensionality of cluster network structure, and reconcile relationship intensity and relationship quality, affect external network size and network openness, and then influence the situation of industry's resources acquisition. (3) Resources acquisition has the direct role to promote enterprise performance,and at the same time resources acquisition palys a completely intermediary role between the network structure and enterprise performance, because cluster network structure reflects the external characteristics of business environment enterprise embedded in, and can not directly affect its internal business performance. Companies need to acquire resource from an embedded network. (4)Absorptive capacity also positively adjusts the relationship between resource acquisition and enterprise performance, indicating that the effect of resource acquisition on business performance depends on the self-absorption capacity of enterprise resources. (5)Cluster network structure will be impacted by park management innovation:policy innovation, institution innovation, organization innovation. The three dimensions of management innovation all have a significant positive effect on network size, network openness; Organization innovation also has a positive effect on the relationship quality. These indicate that the formation and construction of cluster network structure depends on park management innovation, and management innovation is an important factor of building cluster network.This paper puts forward a feasible policy recommendation both on the macro of government and micro of enterprise perspective. These recommendations seek to optimize cluster network structure, enhance organizational absorptive capacity, while expand resources acquisition, and then improve enterprise performance.From the point of government, this paper views that park management innovation should consider policy innovation, institution innovation and organizational innovation, and optimize innovative environment from three aspects, and then contribute to the formation of an effective cluster network. Government needs to play a guiding role, and actively adjust and optimize cluster network structure. From the view of enterprise, this paper argues companies need to enhance the ability to obtain resources and absorptive capacity. Enterprise should strengthen the establishment and maintainance of external cluster network structure to expand the network size, improve network openness and increase relationship quality, need to give a full play to enterprise management capabilities for external relationship, make full use of strong relationship to obtain critical resources, knowledge, skills and other resources, expand knowledge spillovers effects, and then to improve enterprise performance.Main innovation points of the paper:(1) In the scarcity for research of how the cluster network structure affects the enterprise performance, this paper puts resource acquisition as intermediary variable which is the paper's innovation, puts absorptive capacity and relationship management capability of enterprise as moderator variable, then presents the theoretical model of the dissertation and makes empirical test. This study will deepen and supplement the theory of cluster network, which make the project a certain innovation; (2) As how to promote enterprise performance in industrial park, based on the resource-based theory perspective, this paper discusses many factors which influence enterprise performance on park cluster level, searches approaches to increase enterprise performance from broader extent of cluster network structure, studies the influence on resources acquisition playing a role to enterprise performance in park, analyzes the impact on enterprise absorptive capacity playing a role to both relationship,and makes the empirical test. This study will provide enlightenment and reference for the development of park enterprise; (3)In the scarcity for our country park cluster development of the network, from the policy innovation, institution innovation and organization innovation in three dimensionality of park management innovation, this paper discusses the influence of the cluster of China network construction, puts forward the corresponding policy recommendations. This study can provide reference for the park management institution, and also have an important significance to build the regional innovation network.
