| Both Marx and Lenin have conducted comprehensive systematic research about capitalism at their own times and have made landmark summaries and analyses.Compared to either capitalism in the middle period of 19th century when Marx published his first volume of "Das Kapital" or capitalism in the primary period of 20th century when Lenin published "Imperialism Discussed",contemporary capitalism has changed a lot.Those new changes need to be summarized and analyzed again.As for the capitalism development,the Chinese national dominant viewpoint is still in the "monopolistic capitalism theory" based on Lenin imperialism.The basic viewpoint still is: the centralization of production will lead to monopoly,then monopolistic level will unceasingly increase:first personal monopoly,then national monopoly,and finally international monopoly.The monopoly will tend to stagnation and decay and will aggravate all kinds of conflicts and contradictions in capitalism,but we cannot exclude that certain countries and certain industries will develop in certain periods.In contemporary capitalism the monopoly has achieved a new higher level.This opinion cannot give a convincing answer to some realistic questions,such as the question that because of the co-existence and absolute domination of small and medium-sized enterprises during the development period of big enterprises,the competition between them has become more intense instead of being suppressed;and the question that capitalism has flourished during its decay.So how can we track the overall tendency of capitalism development and give a scientific explanation? Mr.Deng Xiaoping pointed out that the theme of present age is peace and development,not war and revolution.But nowadays capitalism has a leadership in the world,so how can we understand the deep roots of the theme of peace and development? Why does the traditional socialism system,which appeared as the replacement of monopolistic capitalism,have so many problems? What system is the new socialism market economy system which replaced the traditional system? How can we combine socialism and public-owned system with market economy?Those questions are crucial ones related to Marxist Theory and socialism's future.The researchers of contemporary national Marxist Theory have the responsibility and obligation to give scientific answers to those questions.The purpose of this article is,according to the history of capitalism development,to have a new research about basic tendency,period division,system root,and eventual destination of development of the capitalist mode of production which formed after monopolistic stage to enrich and develop Marxism Theory and provide strong theoretical supports to the reform of contemporary socialism economic system and modern construction.This article consists of six parts-introduction--introduction,four major issues,and conclusion.The introduction discussed the background and meaning of the selected theme,previous research outcomes of the theme,their innovations and research methods.The first major issue is the basic tendency of the development of the capitalist mode of production—rethinking of monopoly.It mainly discussed the discrepancy between the influence of monopoly anticipated by traditional theory and historical facts,the deficits of monopoly limits made by traditional theory,theoretical analyses about monopolistic situation in capitalism production,and the reason why the capitalist mode of production would not lead to extreme monopoly of most professions.The second major issue is the stage division of the development of the capitalist mode of production—different rethinking from a different angle.It mainly discussed the problems of stage division made by traditional theories;new division standard,that is,life-cycle theory of production based on dialectical relations among "content,form,and condition";new division result,that is,three developmental stages of the capitalist mode of production.The third major issue is the system root of developmental changes in the capitalist mode of production—rethinking of its characteristics and intrinsic rules.It mainly discussed the influence that the rule -"the uniformity between production growth and consumption growth" followed by general production method has on the capitalist mode of production;the influence that the rule followed by general commodity mode of production has on the capitalist mode of production;and the influence that the rule followed by the special commodity mode of production which uses hiring workforce has on the capitalist mode of production. The fourth major problem is about the eventual destination of the capitalist mode of production—rethinking of the socialist mode of production.It mainly discussed the inner conflicts and its historical destiny of the traditional socialist mode of production,theoretical inheritance of the socialist mode of production made by Marx and Engels,and how their theoretical inheritance can help find the link to combine socialism with market economy.The conclusion summarized innovations and deficits of this article and provided several enlightenments through the research of this article.The main innovations are:①Pointing out that limits of monopoly made by traditional opinions does not have the validity across time and space;②Pointing out the developmental stages of the capitalist mode of production made by traditional theory have different standards and insufficient facts;③Setting up the life-cycle theory of production based on dialectical relations among "content, form,and condition" as a standard to divide developmental stages of the capitalist mode of production;④Propose a new division result:Before the end of 19th century is the transition period,before the end of 20th century is the initial stage,the present stage is the stage that monopoly just entered its mature intermediate stage;⑤According to its characteristics and inner rules,promulgating the in-depth reason why the capitalist mode of production have a huge development in 20th century at three levels;⑥Analyzing 10 major inner conflicts in the socialist mode of production formed by traditional monopolistic capitalism theory;⑦Pointing out that Marx and Engels have proposed such a socialist mode of production that "state-owned system,rents system,and cooperation system interlinks each other";⑧Finding out some new ways to realize the combination of socialism and market economy.The main deficits are:①Despite finding out the problem of monopoly limits made by traditional opinions,being unable to offer a more scientific monopoly limits;②Despite having its own theoretical analyses on actual monopolistic situation,lacking sufficient statistical data;③Having insufficient elaboration on life-cycle theory of production mode,new division stages of the development of the capitalist mode of production,ten major rules of commodity production,ten major conflicts of traditional socialistic economic system,new ways to realize the combination of socialism and market economy.The main enlightenments are:1)The basic development tendency of the capitalist mode of production cannot be tracked only from the monopoly aspect.New ways should be found to gain a more overall and deeper understanding of the development tendency of the capitalist mode of production.2)The contemporary capitalism is still very active.Especially its market economy system is still the highest efficient economic system in the world.We should be able to know that capitalism will co-exist with socialism for a long time and try to study all the civilized achievements of its market economy that meet the requirements of socialization production.3)The capitalist mode of production will naturally develops to a new model that is based on cooperation system.Deviating from the cooperation system is the important flaw in the traditional economic system.Cooperation system is the requirement of establishing new socialist economic system and realizing the combination of public-owned system and market economy.
