1980s Chinese Design And Modernization Imagination

Based on China's social space in the 1980s the group"modernization imagination",through which to watch Chinese society in modem practice of"modernization",andthe understanding of the formation of"modem design"in practice and theunderstanding of the impact of China's design.In the 1980s,China is not adequate professional design personnel and westerndesign theory is fragment type to enter the Chinese professional design field ratherthan the social field.Therefore,"modernization imagination"in society as a collectivementality,profound influences the social understanding of Chinese"modem design".In People's everyday life,"modernization imagination"internalization into people'sdesign cognition,and extemal into the design practice.Therefore,in the 1980sChina's social space and the people's life and production,formed the earlyunderstanding of what is"modern design"and how to practice"modem design",andbecome a model of the system.The most basic understanding of the"modemdesign"(called"core cognitive") exists in the model system.In China,the processes ofdesign practice constantly,in the face of the new precipitate design information,active choice and protect"core cognitive"tendency.China's professional designpersonnel,western designers and design theory enter the"core cognitive"of the socialfield,the process is understanding design between the society of Chinese and western,that is the conflict and active choice coexist.Therefore,this paper argues that China's design"modernization"is not a usuallythink of western design influence of passive acceptance process,but an activeinformation selection and western design influence China coexist.So China's designmodernization in the process of transforming design based on special"model"ofChina's regional and social model——"the late developing from inside and outsidemodel".Hope this"model"can be a new approach to explain Chinese contemporarydesign,which full of contradiction and complexity.
