This article mainly focuses on Wang's novel creation. It believes that Wang has two kinds of motives for novel creation: one is to take the responsibility of criticizing as an intellectual and the other is to create a imaginative world as a novelist. The esthetics of Wang's novels is characterized by the perfect combination of free, dynamic artistic imagination and the keen, profound realistic critique. The article divides Wang's creation into three stages by his biography and gives a comprehensive description of Wang's novels' world according to his inner spirit dimension. The first part of this article analyzes Wang's early works in the 1970s, which reflects the basic standpoint of his creation and firstly demonstrates his artistic interest and the direction of his development. "Greeting the Daybreak On A Wild Island" is the earliest novel of self-explanation style, while "Cat" is the subsequent deep insight into the realistic world. Other works has firstly taken on the spiritual differentiation in two kinds of different novels. Such novels as, "zhanFu", "It is Real", "The Whole Life", "The Brightest Sunlight ", "Ma Danding" embody the author's profound feeling and reflecting on the reality on that time. However, "Water Monster in a Green Wool ", "Permanence" and others display his talent and express his hope of building an imaginary homeland above the cruel reality. In fact, Wang's early works is not in line with the esthetic standard at that time, but they can be seen as the literary expression of his independent, free spirit and the beginning of his unique literary pursuit. The second part of the article deals with the works of Wang in the 1980s. The short story collection "Chinese Stories" and the novella "The Golden Age" are the two most important works finished after his overseas study in America. These two works respectively manifest two different tendencies of Wang's novel creation, which symbolize the formal starting of them. "The Golden Age" describes a growing self in a special historical period who understands and explains self-existence in the realistic world, including the confirmation of factors in self-existence and the identification and resistance of factors in existence. "Chinese Stories" and some works alike have reposed Wang's hope in the novel's artistic and imaginative state. Wang produces his own stories on the basis of Chinese legend, making his narrations about the legendary figures and events deep-rooted in the historical background and thus prominent in literary grace and grandeur. The third part of the article analyzes the inclination of Wang's critic novel creation in the 1990s. This refers to the works below: the already completed "2010" ,the novella collection "The Silver Age ", "The Fourth Year in the University " at the draft stage, "Black Iron Time","Black Iron Apartment", which are included into the anthology of "Black Iron Time " after Wang's death. These works take the future time as their narrative time. The article holds that Wang's work has carried on a more profound criticism to the reality in the narrative style of anti-utopia.The fourth part of the article analyzes the imaginary creation of wang's literary works in the 1990s, like the long novel collection "The bronze age" which is an imaginary work known as ultimate mature since the dynamic work "Chinese story ".The uniqueness of Wang's novels also attribute to his constant trial on his distinctive expressing style. The speaking touching on topics like sex and oppressive love is not only seen as his attempts to shocking and challenging the conventional esthetic standard, but his hope and endeavor to seek for a new expressive style for his own speaking. Wang died in his prime, left to us few but enough novels. Although the value of his works maybe needs to be further evaluated and assessed in the years to come, their shock and impact, to the world should be increasingly valued in the Chinese contemporary literary arena.
