Deconstructive Criticism: Morphology And Value

Any mature criticism morphology is a system, including its own unique discourse, methods, paradigm, ideas and so on, and its ideas are the most nuclear part. In other words, it is the basic ideas of some criticism morphology that are the decisive factors which decide it is this one. So we need to conclude the basic ideas of deconstruction criticism in order to understand its basic feature and spirit and make it as a system. Reflecting the comments of the academics on the basis of it, we can exactly judge which are reasonable or unreasonable. Finally we need to make some rational comments in view of the real problems.Generally speaking, this paper was consisted of two parts, the first part was the basic morphology of the deconstruction criticism (1-7), the second part was the comments on it (8-11). To be concrete, it included several following parts.First (1-2), the basic features and connotation of deconstruction and deconstruction criticism were illustrated, and as a original ,endless and enormously subversive and creative driving force, when deconstruction resulted from deconstruction and became deconstrucion, it was an positive response to the call for alterity, and a subversion of hierarchical structure order. When deconstuction freed otherness, it also freed its contrary, it turned from one structure to another new structure tirelessly, and to the endless. The deconstructive event was the consequence of subverting the the binary hierarchical order. In narrow sense, the deconstruction referred to the deconstruction or deconstruction criticism of literary criticism, deconstruction criticism displayed the rise, climax, proliferation, and the tendency of fading out respectively in the symbolized years of 1966, 1979,1983,and 2004.Second (3-6), the basic views such as the literary view, text view, criticism view and context view were illustrated. In terms of deconstruction criticism, there was not any transcendent literary essence, the uniqueness of literature lied in that it displayed as the rhetorical language more directly than other languages, the basic spirit of literature was freedom, which inspired our creativity to imagine and construct the world; The so called text only existed during the reading, the reading helps construct the text; and the target of literary criticism was to seek the"truth"of text, the rhetorical feature, difference and mutual complementarity of language; context was very important in deconstruction criticism, we can't understand anything without context, but meanwhile the deconstruction construction pointed out the context wasn't reliable, because the context itself was written, an construction, in other words, it was also only an text.Third (7),"the paradigm of deconstruction criticism", firstly, the definition and basic features of paradigm were summarized, the paradigm was understood as a explanation model in this paper, which has the characteristics of incommensurability, inheritance, innovation and competition and so on; secondly, according to the"four elements of literary art"of M.H. Abrams, all morphologies of the literary criticism were concluded into four paradigms, the special paradigms in the smallest units were further divided among the four paradigms; Finally, the paradigms of deconstruction criticism were summarized, and that the deconstruction criticism already turned from the theme criticism model to the polysemy rhetorical reading model was specially indicated.Fourth (8-9), The response was made to the blames of deconstruction criticism in the real attitude and the ideology nature; firstly, to some degree, the deconstruction theorists indeed didn't take the radical means of"May Storm"to get involved in the reality directly, but their confrontation with the reality never ended, only the forms changed, after analyzing the historical context of deconstruction criticism, the nature of deconstruction, the aim of deconstruction criticism in terms of the blames that the deconstruction criticism avoided reality, politics, and the deconstruction destroyed everything, meanwhile, the disputes resulted from Deman affair were analyzed. Secondly, the deconstruction criticism was not equivalent to the nihilism, relativism and skepticism after analyzing the basic views of deconstruction criticism in terms of that they were equivalent. In fact, there was a good tradition about deconstruction criticism, that is genealogical research route, the deconstruction criticism didn't doubt anything, it only doubt the presence. The deconstruction criticism didn't pay attention to the difference, it emphasized that all the identities included difference; most important, the deconstruction criticism could be said to carry out the most complete and fierce attack on the dogmatism in the history.Fifth (10-11),"the insight and blindness of deconstruction criticism", the advantages and disadvantages of deconstruction criticism were analyzed and evaluated. The deconstruction criticism played a significant role in breaking the"dogmatic reading", it encouraged readers to widen the text with his creative potential, to discover the valuable things that were depressed and overshadowed. However, it was too elite and serious, its demands for the reading was too harsh, not all the people could make it. To some degree, any concrete criticism morphology had its own elites, we couldn't pay more attention to one and less attention to the other. In the practice of literary criticism, in terms of the relationship among all criticism morphologies, we held this view that we should read the text in many dimensions. Meanwhile, the detailed works were further explained on it.
