| 1. Prognostic factor and pattern of failure of rectal cancer—an analysis of 327 patientsObjective: To study how the TNM stage, pathologic classification and adjuvant treatment influence the prognosis of rectal cancer, and give an evidence of evaluating prognosis accurately and selecting reasonable treatment methods for rectal cancer. Methods From January 1994 to October 1997, 327 patients with rectal cancer ( on 1997 UICC stage system: stage I 48, stage II 121, stage III 150 and stage IV 8 ) were treated by surgery included Miles 171, Dixon 136, Hartmman 15 and other ways of surgery 5.
