Based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine and the current achievements of modern medicine, this study investigate the pharmacodynamics and mechanism of TL Capsule(TLC) on treating stroke sequela models of rats after experimental intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH)and cerebral ischemia (CI).To observe the effect of TLC on changes of behavior, brain edema, the areas of hematoma or the infarct size after ICH in rats and the model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in rats. The effect of TLC was observed on the breathing time of mice after their decollation, the survival time of mice subjected to oxygen deprivation and the death rates of mice subjected to acute cerebral ischemia by bilateral carotid occlusion with vagus, the bleeding time and coagulate time in mice. At the same time, by means of modern technology such as microscope, computer image analysis system, biochemical technique, etc, we investigate the structures of brain tissue, the Nissl body change of neuron in the ICH and CI, oxygen derived free radicals, ATPase, NOS , iNOS activities , and NO content after cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats.The experiments show that TLC has an obvious effect of brain tissue protection: ① TLC decreases neural functional deficits in the evaluation of rats and the score with long medication was lower, suggesting that medication can even better improve neural functional deficits; ② TLC could obviously reduce the degree of cerebral edema in ICH and CI; ③ TLC could dramatically reduce areas of hematoma in ICH and the infarct size in CI; ④ TLC could markedly prolong breathing time of mice after decollation and survival time of mice after bilateral carotid occlusion with vagus; decreased the death rate after the form of blood stasis in mice; ⑤ TLC could significantly resist brain hypoxia after oxygen deprivation in mice; ⑥ TLC could significantly promote blood circulation by prolonging the bleeding time and coagulate time in mice.The effects of TLC on treatment stroke sequela were realized through pathways displayed below: ①TLC can protect the structures of brain tissue in experimental...
