Ultrasoaic standing wave (USW) can cause erythrocyte aggregation and then sedimentation, this effect has been found for over 20 years. After that many investigations hare been made. The most interesting of which is red blood call collection.intraoperative autotransfusion (IAT) is now common. But the appiication and disseminition of IAT technique are not up to id(?)al, probably related to price, operation complicated or other difficulties.No doubt, the discovery of red blood cell aggregation induced by USW showed a new prospect for IAT technique.The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the related sonic problem is USW red blood cell collection. There is littie knowledge on the influence of reflector on transducer. By experiments the thesis clarifies the influence between reflector and transducer, and points out the properties of USW (?)ainly controlled by the reflector in the rery near field of the transducer.The thesis set up a electric-sonic meaturement system, in whish, an ingeniously designed hydrophone was used to measure the sonic pressure, and current through the disc transducer was monitored by ammeter to show the relation between sonic and the dynamic properties of the transducer.Baaed on the above analyses and experiments, the thesis showed a new design with double sided irradiation transducer and 'dry* coupling technique.
